Leighann ...close you eyes and sit under a lamp...pretty soon you'll feel like you're on that beach somewhere :) Sorry you're so overloaded and not feeling well either..
OK...I watch the Alaska Experiment...watched one episode so far...the show just started (I record it) the folks on this show have lost LOTS of weight and I need to know what they are eating...I know protein is very little because they were out catching their own food...I'm wondering if the cold weather and hard work is what is making them lose the weight...I know I shouldn't follow that kind of weight loss BUT...I am curious :) I can go to Jack in the box and ask if I can jog in their walk in freezer :)
Don't laugh, but they are probably eating fish and whale blubber. I actually saw that on a show once. That is why the Eskimo people have virtually no overweight...it is literally an all-protein diet. I can't believe their hearts are okay with all that fat. I guess the lean fish balances it out? 8-)
The espisode I saw Steph...was the first one...a month into their getting to Alaska and the hadn't yet had their protein sources saved up for the upcoming winter...they talked about the lack of protein in their first month...so, since they haven't had their fill on it...what are they eating?? The show has them weigh in and take blood tests so they can monitor their health...it's not a competition or anything...just to see if regular folk can survive in extreme conditions without much help...It's really a cool show and a real mix of folks...I think there are 4 sets of people placed at different locatons and different extremes...thus far, they've been canning salmon...and one guy shot a mountain goat (he's the only one with a gun, due to his food availablity)...no blubber yet LOL...EWWWWWWWWWWWW
Sounds like a good show, Brenda, definitely. That is interesting, what are they eating until they secure their protein source? I guess they are literally spending all of their time keeping from the elements, and finding food. Keep us posted on what happens!
Whale blubber...eating mountain goat...let's keep up this line of conversation. Guaranteed to curb anybody's appetite! Excellent for the weight loss blog! :)
OH, LEIGH ANN...that was a good one; but YUCKO!! Fish and whale blubber...yeah, you're right Steph; that'll curb anyone's appetite...EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW; still coughing up my lungs; but so far so good on no fever or anything else, and it's the second day w/o antibiotics..so we'll see how it continues to go :D
ahh fish... mmm mmm. As for smells... ours is Onion and jalepeno's. PEEEUUUUU. Just finished putting a post on my blog and now am gonna go climb in bed with Fred and watch some tv. Wheee.
I had a productive day today; I did the other half of my laundry at my parents house and pulled their weeds (i'm paying for it with an asthma attack now..but doing a treatment, so I'm good); my mom paid for me to get a haircut - and boy, IS IT SHORT!!!; then, with it being Cinco De Mayo, we had Mexican for dinner and now I'm home..tomorrow's a relax day and then starts my two straight weeks (not consecutive) of appointments on Wednesday
Good Morning Ladies!!! Happy Tuesday. Well... today the new boss man starts at work! We have a new Managing Director. Not sure exactly what that will mean... but hey... change is good. *i hope*
Good Morning all...sprinkles in the air...I like it :) hope it clears for the afternoon bikeride!! Kathi...I'm sure you're hair is cute and makes you feel lighter...I always feel that way when my hair gets cut short :) Leighann....hope your studies are going ok :) Tina...your recent blog entries are so happy and sad..with your baby due to graduate. HUGS!
Oh yea...well...haven't put a lot of thought into that...LOL.
The kids are excited and we are going to try and make some space for them this week.
Tori is really homesick - it cracks me up, she does good until about two weeks out and then she turns into a basket case! It will be a lot easier when we are all based out of the TN house...she has been up in the air for so long and basically homeless, bless her heart.

*sniff.. sniff... sniff* I HATE thinking about you leaving.. but i will stop being a baby... plan away ladies... I will just snivel quietly. *(hehehe)*
California ladies, I remember standing on Leigh Ann's deck 2 years ago, the last night they were here, and her saying, "this sucks!" We were all sad here too. I know how you girls feel. I grew attached to her just a bit while she was here. Leigh Ann, it's nice to know lots of people love you, huh?
I know you are excited to see your peeps in Kentwood...take lots of pictures!
I got excited when you were talking about heading our way. When are you leaving, exactly, and I know the plans for Kentwood, but didn't know your ETA for Smyrna...
Good Morning all :) Hey Kathi....I do recall Leighann saying the blog will stay active...I for one, won't give up on my weightloss buddy program...LOL although, it's turned into a complete stop and go with the scale!!!!
Did everyone enjoy their Cinco de Mayo last night!! :)
Just sometimes I don't know what teenagers are thinking... and how it affects so many people around them... I mean we did some shit, but nothing like these kids are doing now a days... and yes, we are the first ones to continually bail them out... I can honestly say, KK will have a hard road... and I will see to it, that she walks it every day.. so as not to think we are handling everything... and she has stepped up to the plate.... yes, the poor parents... and it probably is a good kid that just got a little stupid quick...
I heard one time, I haven't the foggiest idea where, that a teenager's brain doesn't fully develop until their 20s, so it kind of goes to show you how immature they are in their decisions that they make...I AM IN NO WAY CONDONING WHAT HAPPENED, but it's somewhat understandable..and I know that kid knows right from wrong, he has to..he's 12!!! Kind of makes me wonder though what kind of parenting he gets; if me or my siblings pulled that shit..OMG; there would be hell to pay
Oh, and doctor went well today. He doesn't have anymore ideas about my cough..just have to wait to see the Pulmonologist Friday to see what the next step is; my blood sugars are normalizing now that I'm tapering off the prednisone, but I did get a diabetic handout to follow should I have to go back on it in the future; I don't have diabetes, but facing the reality of having to follow that kind of diet because of, what my doctor calls, an "insulin resistance" due to the pred.
Leighann...so very happy for you :) Hope the last bit goes smoothly for you!!
Kathi...gosh...another challenge right in front of you, again...one step at a time as you do so well :)
I just spent some time updating my blog ..again LOL...I am now CURRENT ...WOOHOO!! :) If you have time...stop by and see the newest addition to the Storey family!!
Oh, I am just reading what happened at Rayna's school today. That is terrible! Sounds like he needs a psych eval...I am sure he didn't think about endangering other peoples' lives...I will make certain to use this as an example to my 11-year-old boy as to the consequences of bad decisions. Jonathan is a good boy, but I am terrified about the next 5-10 years with teenage boy stuff...I am reading up on how to handle things intellectually, rather than physically, like my parents did. :)
I hope that boy gets back on track, and I am glad no one was hurt.
Yeah Steph, wow; you'll be hitting the teenage years SOON. My poor brother and sil; their second daughter is just now coming into the throws of it (she'll be 12 next month); don't get me wrong..my nieces are great, Christian young women (OH, that hurt to say that..lol) and there's no way they would ever do that, but... I think peer pressure can get even the best Christian
There is no way in HELL that my parents would EVER survive if they had four teenagers now, as they did 25 years ago; why can't we just go back to that simpler time? It was so easy when we were growing up (compared to what it is now, I mean)
I hate surprises too... gets me all ansy... can't wait to hear and see what it is.... Brenda, I'm going to your blog after I finish... Kathi, just quit going to the doctor!! LOL they always just keep finding stuff... I hate going... Steph, I'm sure by now your legs are back in regular motion...
Marci, yes, my legs are good as new, thanks for asking! I ran 6 miles yesterday, and it felt great.
John wants me to start thinking toward next year's race. Now that I'm a veteran and know what to expect, hopefully I can manipulate my time. But, this far out, I think I am only going to do long runs a few times a month just to maintain condition...Sorry to blah blah! That may be more information than you wanted...I am not used to people asking me about my runs! :)
......................................................................................................... your stress hormones just dropped 70 %........................................LOL...I read in my prevention magazine that just anticipating the joke drops the stress hormones 70%...does it work...I dunno :)
We were sitting in class last night and Jessica (who is about 24 years old, works two jobs and is from Arkansas - INCREDIBLE PERSON) starts gabb'n about going home and what she is having for lunch Friday, yes tomorrow - CRAWFISH BOIL! I was like that is so messed up...everyone else was looking at us like we were nuts. LOL
Two more presentations tonight...edit research paper and write another paper and I am done...I know ya'll must be sick of hearing about school, I know I am.
Today is my last day of classes!
Getting dressed to go to a Mother's Day Tea with Dailen at school:)
too sweet Leighann...Have fun with Dailen! Last day of class!!! WOOHOO!! the crawfish boil story FUNNY!!! I'll have to learn how to cook all that fun seafood stuff ...I love the food but will have no one to make it...besides Dana and the shrimps and crabs....
Steph not too much info... in my younger and lighter days, that's what I did to puff steam... I ran... I would LOVE to be able to get there again...
Leigh Ann, can't believe about the crawfish boil story... Brenda, can't wait to see your new addition to your family.... my computer at work blocks me looking at those.... :( will see when I get home.
A Tea party, that is precious. can't wait to see pics....
Crawfish...I never had any either, Brenda. I am historically not good with shellfish. For my 18th birthday my boyfriend bought me lobster at a nice restaurant in Nashville. They brought it out on a platter, whole, looking at me...I couldn't do it! LOL :)
Leigh Ann, let me know what your research turns up for a boil here in TN once you get back. Maybe you could help me with the face thing! How do you eat 'em? I think I would be fine, long as it's not lookin at me!
uh... suck the WHAT?? lol. Ok... that clinches it... no crawfish boil for THIS wus. Now... feed me shrimp, lobster, etc where i can pick it out of a shell i am fine... but suck somthings head?? ugh
Oh Tina, the tears! Just woke up the baby, laughing at your post! That was the best!!
I am definitely with you. I would be the first one to die on Survivor. No bugs for me. Maybe I could eat grass or kelp! Now my husband is a different story.
I am a little tipsy....and put such... a big difference... hee hee.....
Leigh Ann, Mike is on call the weekend of the 30th,.. he is trying to change with ANYONE...... OMG... If need be I will come without him.... just no crawfish that night....
Hey Kathi, I had went to bed when you posted... Mike is a supervisor at used to be Welch Generators.. but was just bought out by National Oilwell Varco... They work on and rent the portable generators that when power goes out they can power back up from the generators... they are HUGE... the size of an 18 wheeler trailer.. runs, hospitals, malls, schools, plants... etc... (IE started as mechanic, and moved up in less than 5 years... which is awesome)
Marci Marci Marci... are you TRYING to totally GROSS me out? hahaha. Steph, Im with you on this one... I am so NOT a "girly girl" (just ask LA) but i would NOT eat bugs... and I refuse to "suck the heads" of ANYTHING... *ugh*
OMG! I just re-read my post... and had a "Brady Bunch" moment with the Marci Marci Marci! hahahahohohohehehehe. Damn... its gonna be one of those very silly days! And I have to do training today... *sigh* I hope the group appreciates strange humour. lol
Hey all...I'm gonna be off blog after this post....busy day here at work and I'm leaving at 1pm to go with my parents, for mom to have a brain MRI...if you can, please keep her in your thoughts/prayers...this isn't a routine MRI...and she has a history of brain cancer....
I hope the testing goes well with mom, Brenda. I will be thinking about you all.
Tina, I love silly! It makes the day go by faster. And, I especially like being trained by someone who knows her stuff and is at ease enough to joke and have a little fun. I say, it's okay to be happy at work!
Kathi, several counties in TN reported tornado touchdowns, but I don't think we had any near us. Just rain, which is cool...we need it. My flowers are thirsty!
Leigh Ann, are you finished now? What's next? How is that ankle? And you know, what the heck's up? :)
He said, someone should... he just has to get that done...
Friday, hell I'm waiting for 5:00, so I can get to Beer:30...... ha I was actually down another lb this morning... but will wait, b/c I usually tell you on Sundays... so we shall see...
Ugh...stressful isn't good - makes beer:30 need to be earlier:)
Some weigh in today and turn that weight in to me on Sunday. I was doing that, but then I went nuts on the weekend, so to keep me somewhat honest, I usually do Saturdays - it's your call.
Went to the Pulmonologist today; back on - or still on - the prednisone, as I'm wheezing again; I'm also on Advair now..go back in a month. My voice is GONE b/c of the coughing (LA knows this)
Tina, that was too funny about the "Brady Bunch" moment, with the Marci, Marci, Marci..I totally thought of that too when I read that
There is no sunshine today, Marci; it's frickin cold here today
I wish I got better too, LA and Marci; thank you for your wishes..b/c I'm on pred again, and will be for a while, I don't think I'm gonna weigh in anymore (I might, just out of curiosity), just cuz, like I said before, steroids can make you gain. I will most definitely rest up for the party (and hopefully have my voice back)
Well, I have to walk away from my research paper - I have put in over six hours on it today alone...it's like being pregnant for a year - thats how long I have been working on it almost - and still no baby.
LOL...I am heading to the gym.
Tonight we are packing...my house will never be the same, I hope my nerves will be able to take the chaos of it all.
BTY: I have made a lot of progress on it...I am on page 26 of 30 - editing what she gave back to me. So, this is the FINAL draft that I am working on! YAH!!! I could heat a small village with all of the "drafts" I have of this damn paper!
Leighann...your paper is almost there...just that little bit more...inch by inch LOL
Kathi...so sorry for that darn prednisone...just take care of you!!
By now, Marci should be destressed LOL
TIna...best wishes tonight...that would have been cool to see Fred play!!!
Steph...hope you enjoy your , hopefully, relaxing weekend!!
Rima, Crystal, Mandy...have a good weekend :)
Thank you all for keeping my mom in your thoughts/prayers :) It's a scary time in our family!!! We'll be lunching with her tomorrow and spending the afternoon with them...THEN I go to my first IKEBANA floral arranging class :D it's a traditional japanese floral arranging...there are more modern teachers but Janet learned the traditional and she is starting class'
OK... I am so "destressed"my hair is poking up straight!!! LOL quite a few beers.... Poppa & I will have Mylee tomorrow and tomorrow night.. KK is going to work with my sister at a baseball tournament...a little break and a little money for her... I think a good little small break...
Leigh Ann, I am SSSSSOOOOOO glad your papers are almost over...
I think Crystal is preoccupied with soaking up her new family member... :) we'll hear soon...
Oh good, Marci; I'm glad that KK's able to "get away" for a bit; bonding time for you and Mike, which is ALWAYS a great thing..
I'm assuming this is a sister that's in support of you guys :D
That's what I was thinking too about Crystal; boy, is this gonna be a very special Mother's Day for her - and her sil Gwen, since she brought home a child from China around Thanksgiving
Depending on how I'm feeling, I'm gonna be going up to my parents tomorrow to celebrate Mom's Day (I bought her the new Barbara Walters book)
Oh Kathi, your MOm will LOVE that... that's a wonderful gift...
yes, I figured KK needed a day or so away... and yes, this is My sister that is awesome..... her and I are like twins... there are no secrets and we think completely alike... although we are about 4 years apart.....
and Happy Mother's day to all incase I cannot get back on the blog... Nonnie will be babysitting.,.. LOL it's just different when it is not your child... very tiring... but worth it... :)
LA, before you leave, CHECK YOUR TIRES!! Just saw a thing on 20/20 on how you can check to see just how old they are..yes, I know the van is new, but the tires might not be; you have to check the whole DOT label (at the very end) and there's a "code" to go by (IE...let's say the numbers are 4501; this means that the tires were manufactured in the 45th week of 2001...the tires are seven years old - not good for the road trip you're going to take) ... this goes for all my blog "sisters"...check those tires, ladies - could mean yours and your family's lives
I'm definitely going to check the tires on the rental before we leave for Vegas
LA, do you know who "crescent" is? I just read the post on your blog about Brenda getting EOM (Congrats, Bren) in January...was just curious is you know who that is, or is it a "spam" thing...
Great tip on the tires, Kathi! I just had new tires put on John's truck. I will check them to see what they peddled off on me for $600.
Marci, I didn't know beer did that to a girl...LOL! I will definitely have to keep my eye on the mirror, next time I imbibe! :0
Leigh Ann, that was cute the way you typed it, The Mylee. Makes her sound VIP, like "The Donald". She is VIP, much more so than Donald Trump ever though to be! :) Enjoy her, Marci!
Typing VIP reminded me of my senior year in high school. My best friend (all the way from 3rd grade) was a mere 5 feet, 1 inch at 17 years old, and because of her stature, as a gag gift, I bought her a coffee mug that said, VIP (very important peon). She loved it.
As the thread rolls...speaking of coffee. (Can you tell I want to talk?) :)
Got my Mother's Day gifts from my babies, a few days early! They are taking me to brunch, but I also got...a bouquet of daisies, which are my fav! And Jonathan made me a little clip from a paint stick which he painted himself at school for my fridge (I cherish the hand-made stuff most, of course!) I also got a new mug and a bag of my favorite coffee from Starbucks from him, and T-shirts and a gorgeous pair of Amethyst earrings from Ansley. My girlie!! She is so sweet. She brought me a bottle of pink nail polish yesterday and said, "Mama, pink toes!" That was her way of asking me to paint her toes.
Steph, we have been packing and all...I can't wait to see Ansley play with the Dora house and stuff I am saving, I am going to set up her own corner in Dailens room!
I can't check out the link while I am logged on at work. I will look at it later, but I know we have several vineyards here close. We have always wanted to go but never got around to it. I can't wait!
Oh, yuck, the packing...the not so fun part. I hope all of your stuff makes it home whole! :) We always lose something when we move, to breakage, or just disappearing!
I HATE moving; it's true what they say about not knowing how much crap you have until you pack/move.. I guess that's why I've been living where I am for six years; don't want to move again...lol (that, and not being able to AFFORD IT).

Things here are moving along...a week from Thursday I will be done!
Probably still have some work to do on my research paper...I get it back tomorrow night.

and I'm sure the excitement is building for Tori's arrival...Tuesday (?)
She is staying with a couple of friends in their apartment...she is just out of sorts and wants to come home.
I feel bad because I made her wait a week and half before flying out with her friends...
But, I had to have this week to finish school up!
She is staying with a couple of friends in their apartment...she is just out of sorts and wants to come home.

Marci,
I can't wait for crawfish...we are going to visit my mom Friday (we will get into Kentwood on Thursday Night)afternoon.
Do you think you guys can come up and do the boil at John Marks Friday Night? Dad is going to get Allen to do up some fish, too. Then we leave on Saturday Morning heading towards Stephanie:)
Ok... I object. No making "wrathers are gone plans". You will have Brenda and I mushy blubbering MESSES!! You will just have to do that SOMEWHERE ELSE. lol lol lol *pretty please... you will make me cry*

Marci
Hey Hey,
you didn't get busted on campus today huh??? LOL
I saw over 100 San Diego Un. students got arrested...
LOL...people have been calling from everywhere, no, I was not busted!!!
When I saw that the student body rec'd an email from the president, I knew something bad was going down.
I will respect our fellow bloggers and shoot you an email.
Yes, we will be taking the 10 all the way across until we head up to TN from Kentwood.
Well that was my main concern... that you were not busted!!! LOL
we will talk about the other later tonight....
Love ya!
Marci
*sniff.. sniff... sniff*
I HATE thinking about you leaving.. but i will stop being a baby... plan away ladies... I will just snivel quietly.
*(hehehe)*
Ahhh...it really does suck and it is really sad!

We should arrive on Saturday, the 31st - early evening or so!
Have John on standby to help unload the truck on Sunday the
1st, if he's available.
Mike and I talked tonight.... we will both plan on taking a 1/2 a day on that Friday...so we can come early enough to cook you some crawfish!!!!
Can't wait to see you either...
I am sure your California Crew will give you a fantastic we will miss you lets go drink get-together!!! LOL that was hard to say....
Marci
LOL...it's going to be a great party but for a sad event...
Yeah, I can't wait for the party..but then again, I can :(
Are you going to keep this blog open even after Memorial Day so we can still keep in touch? I can't remember if you said that or not
Good Morning all :) Hey Kathi....I do recall Leighann saying the blog will stay active...I for one, won't give up on my weightloss buddy program...LOL although, it's turned into a complete stop and go with the scale!!!!
Did everyone enjoy their Cinco de Mayo last night!! :)
It was Monday, Brenda
OMG....of course it was!!! LOL...I'm so behind!!!!!!!!!
Good Morning All,
I got to sleep in today:)
I am going to the gymn here in a minute when I wake up.
Then, I am off to Balboa to pick up my fitrep.
I am going to do homework somewhere for a couple of hours...
Then I have class at 1600, present my research at 1745 and have a meeting for tomorrow's class at 1830!
I will be checking in - have a great one, guys.
oh dear god ... Leighann....all the best in your ventures today...you have quite the load ahead of you !!
I know, but I am doing a happy dance - I am almost done!!!
Anyone hear of a bomb going off at Wagenhiem Middle? I know Walker is on lock down...this will be the second time...
Soda Can Bomb...in a trash can.
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/16187535/detail.html?rss=dgo&psp=news
Wish Rayna would text me or something...last time they were on lock down they were told to contact us and let us know that they were okay!
This has kinda thrown a wrench into my day...
WOW!! Leighann....just got your message...we were in a staff meeting :( OMG!!! That's really scary :(
How scary...
this world is getting too crazy...
let us know when you here from Rayna!
Marci
I'm getting ready to head out to lunch...hope we hear some news Marci soon....
Yes, all is well...a male student admitted to it. Just got a recorded call from the principal.
Everyone is safe, if freak'n pisses me off!
Tina, any news from Tia and Jenna -I have heard nothing from Rayna.
Kathi, did you hear or see anything?...she lives across the street.
glad you're in the all clear...wonder why Rayna hasn't called...maybe she left her phone in her locker??
No!!!! I didnt hear anything. Just got out of a staff meeting. Is everything ok??
HOW scary.... yes that pisses me off too....
his little but needs to be expelled....
Marci
Tina,
Yes, everything is fine...just took them a couple of hours to let us know.
Marci,
HE IS IN BIG TROUBLE!!!
feel bad for his parent's :( glad to hear the update Leighann!!
I've been at the doctor's this am, so no, I was out of the loop..EXPELLED, SHIT..he needs to be arrested..
Just got off the phone with LA; everything's fine; watching 7/39 now, but ellen's on, so i guess nothing to report
Marci
I heard one time, I haven't the foggiest idea where, that a teenager's brain doesn't fully develop until their 20s, so it kind of goes to show you how immature they are in their decisions that they make...I AM IN NO WAY CONDONING WHAT HAPPENED, but it's somewhat understandable..and I know that kid knows right from wrong, he has to..he's 12!!! Kind of makes me wonder though what kind of parenting he gets; if me or my siblings pulled that shit..OMG; there would be hell to pay
Hi all...yea, the kid in in Juvi...
sucks for everyone involved.
My presentation tonight rocked!!!
My meeting went well, too!
Got my research paper back with a lot of edits...will be working on that and my last paper which is due a week from tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a great evening.
Very cool, Leigh Ann. Can you believe it's almost over!?
Oh, and doctor went well today. He doesn't have anymore ideas about my cough..just have to wait to see the Pulmonologist Friday to see what the next step is; my blood sugars are normalizing now that I'm tapering off the prednisone, but I did get a diabetic handout to follow should I have to go back on it in the future; I don't have diabetes, but facing the reality of having to follow that kind of diet because of, what my doctor calls, an "insulin resistance" due to the pred.
Geez...it gets tougher and tougher to stay healthy, doesn't it?
Leighann...so very happy for you :) Hope the last bit goes smoothly for you!!
Kathi...gosh...another challenge right in front of you, again...one step at a time as you do so well :)
I just spent some time updating my blog ..again LOL...I am now CURRENT ...WOOHOO!! :) If you have time...stop by and see the newest addition to the Storey family!!
OH, I HAVE TO GO THERE NOW!!!!
Another baby, Brenda? ROF; just kidding
Boy, is it ever tough staying healthy as we age; BUT..like I've done ever since I was born, I'll face this new challenge with a great attitude
Make room for me, Leigh Ann...comin in after ya
LOL...too cute, Brenda!
Good Morning Girls,
Yes, teenagers can be something else...
I have a secret gift for Mother's Day/Graduation...
Paul won't say a thing about it.
Of course, now I am dying...lol...to know what it is.
The only things I asked for I bought myself for grad.
And he's taking me out for mothers day and I thought that was it.
HMMM...makes me wonder.
Oh, a surprise! John HATES surprises. It makes him SO mad. I love doing that to him! I hope it is something good! ;)
Marci
Happy Thursday everyone :) Oh a surprise!! Paul is very good for that :) Let's hope today brings quiet on school campus' no more scary stuff!!!!
not too much info :) I, too, like hearing about your runs...it's fascinating :D
Hey all................ I have a joke for you......................................................................................................
.........................................................................................................
your stress hormones just dropped 70 %........................................LOL...I read in my prevention magazine that just anticipating the joke drops the stress hormones 70%...does it work...I dunno :)
Facinating information, Brenda! I will definitely have you set me up next time I have hives and wheezing before a deadline! :)
Yes,
Interesting...
Yeah,
we could never find crawfish here to boil...
all this is making me talk southern LOL....I wanna go to a crawfish boil LMAO
We will have one when you come visit...just make sure they are in season...like at this time of the year.
Although, we never boiled any there either, I will have to do some research.
LOL!
Marci
I am off to the gym...the tea party was a lot of fun...we did the chicken dance:)
Oh I love it!
Too precious....
Have a great workout.
Marci
Crawfish...I never had any either, Brenda. I am historically not good with shellfish. For my 18th birthday my boyfriend bought me lobster at a nice restaurant in Nashville. They brought it out on a platter, whole, looking at me...I couldn't do it! LOL :)
Leigh Ann, let me know what your research turns up for a boil here in TN once you get back. Maybe you could help me with the face thing! How do you eat 'em? I think I would be fine, long as it's not lookin at me!
...and you must suck the heads...thats where all the juice is!
uh... suck the WHAT?? lol. Ok... that clinches it... no crawfish boil for THIS wus. Now... feed me shrimp, lobster, etc where i can pick it out of a shell i am fine... but suck somthings head?? ugh
Tina
Oh Tina, the tears! Just woke up the baby, laughing at your post! That was the best!!
I am definitely with you. I would be the first one to die on Survivor. No bugs for me. Maybe I could eat grass or kelp! Now my husband is a different story.
LMAS...too funny!!!
I don't know where my post went but anyways....
Louisiana natives know you must play the part.....
pinch the tails and such the heads... that's what it is all about....
what fun..... OMG I am having such fun with this.....
damn I meant SUCK the heads....
LOL
I am a little tipsy....and put such... a big difference... hee hee.....
Leigh Ann, Mike is on call the weekend of the 30th,.. he is trying to change with ANYONE......
OMG... If need be I will come without him.... just no crawfish that night....
Marci
What does Mike do, Marci?
Hey Kathi, I had went to bed when you posted...
Mike is a supervisor at used to be Welch Generators.. but was just bought out by National Oilwell Varco... They work on and rent the portable generators that when power goes out they can power back up from the generators... they are HUGE... the size of an 18 wheeler trailer.. runs, hospitals, malls, schools, plants... etc...
(IE started as mechanic, and moved up in less than 5 years... which is awesome)
Marci
That's pretty cool; did you guys get any of the tornados that hit down there? Hope not;
Steph, did you guys? Are ya'll ok?
Happy Friday Ladies!!!
*sigh* I hope the group appreciates strange humour. lol
I love strange humor :) You're funny Tina!! LOL
Hey all...I'm gonna be off blog after this post....busy day here at work and I'm leaving at 1pm to go with my parents, for mom to have a brain MRI...if you can, please keep her in your thoughts/prayers...this isn't a routine MRI...and she has a history of brain cancer....
toodles all!!!
Brenda, you know we will. I will call you later.
Oh Marci, I hope he can switch with someone!
Tina,Enjoy your silly day...your making me laugh!
Happy Friday!!!
Hey, Steph!
Editing my research paper and one more paper to write on Sibling Order and Educational Attainment - one is due Wed; the other Thursday.
I am trying to get them both finished prior to Tori getting here with her friends on Tuesday.
So, today, I am going to see how much I can knock out.
My ankle is ok...it's funny after I wear heels for a while it swells up ugly:(
But, I have been able to work out and all, so I am thankful.
Whats up with you guys?
Damn, I lost my post.....
Tina, I love silly, I am always clowning around. :)
Leigh Ann, he is trying, usually they will change days with each other...
Brenda,
I will say a prayer for you and your family today... Be strong!
Marci
Hey Marci,
Hows your Friday going? Of course, I understand if no one switches with him.
OK...I haven't done any homework...I have been blogging and emailing - must get to work!!!
He said, someone should... he just has to get that done...
Friday, hell I'm waiting for 5:00, so I can get to Beer:30...... ha
I was actually down another lb this morning... but will wait, b/c I usually tell you on Sundays... so we shall see...
Work is extremely stressful and busy...
Marci
Ugh...stressful isn't good - makes beer:30 need to be earlier:)
Some weigh in today and turn that weight in to me on Sunday. I was doing that, but then I went nuts on the weekend, so to keep me somewhat honest, I usually do Saturdays - it's your call.
Sounds good, I'll just keep doing on the Sunday, b/c not sure what will happen tonight or tomorrow... :)
Marci
I'll keep your mom in my prayers today, Brenda
Went to the Pulmonologist today; back on - or still on - the prednisone, as I'm wheezing again; I'm also on Advair now..go back in a month. My voice is GONE b/c of the coughing (LA knows this)
Tina, that was too funny about the "Brady Bunch" moment, with the Marci, Marci, Marci..I totally thought of that too when I read that
Kathi,
Hope you start getting better...what a long struggle with this your having.
Rest up for next weekend!!!
Kathi, I hope you get to feeling better soon...
Maybe some sunshine will help....
I have 30 more minutes of work before yes, a beer!!!
I long day at State Farm...
Marci
Glad your day is winding down:)
I will most definitely rest up for the party (and hopefully have my voice back)
I've been drinking A TON of hot Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and honey to sooth my throat, so I'm hoping that'll start working SOON
Yea, the weather is depressing today.
*sigh* LOOOONG Friday. Now to do a load of laundry and get ready for soccer at 8 tonight. Fred has to work so he isnt playing tonight.
Tina
Ugh...laundry!
BTY:
I have made a lot of progress on it...I am on page 26 of 30 - editing what she gave back to me. So, this is the FINAL draft that I am working on! YAH!!!
I could heat a small village with all of the "drafts" I have of this damn paper!
...did I mention that this is the last freak'n time I will exert any energy on this paper?
OK...I'll stop.
Hello all...got back from the hospital...from mom's MRI...she should hear the results by the end of next week...
WOW LeighAnn! Great job! I say again WOWWW! You rock! Brenda I hope everything goes well with your mom. Let me know if you need anything...
sounds fun, Brenda
LA; glad you're almost done..but depressed a little to hear that you're PACKING :(
Have a great game, Tina; wish I can go..need an outing
I've asked Crystal to stop by the blog (on her blog), at least to say hi; but obviously, hasn't had time, I guess
Guess not...maybe she will check in this Sunday.
OK... I am so "destressed"my hair is poking up straight!!! LOL
quite a few beers....
Marci
Brenda, will continue to pray over the weekend.... :) +prayers+
Everyone else, have a great weekend.. hope to hear an update from all of you...
Marci
Oh good, Marci; I'm glad that KK's able to "get away" for a bit; bonding time for you and Mike, which is ALWAYS a great thing..
I'm assuming this is a sister that's in support of you guys :D
That's what I was thinking too about Crystal; boy, is this gonna be a very special Mother's Day for her - and her sil Gwen, since she brought home a child from China around Thanksgiving
Depending on how I'm feeling, I'm gonna be going up to my parents tomorrow to celebrate Mom's Day (I bought her the new Barbara Walters book)
Hi all...Marci, why is your hair sticking straight up? LOL
LOL
it's just different when it is not your child... very tiring... but worth it... :)
Marci
Ha Leigh Ann, b/c I am drank so many damn beers!!!! LOL
Nonnie can't even type.. Mike keeps telling me to back space!!!
LOL
he's watching... ha ha
LOL...too funny, Nonnie! Tell Mike I said hi!
OMG...wait to you see my next blog post!
OMG... I can't wait...
Mike is peeing in his pants at me... I can't even typ.....
I have tyo bring KK in the morning... I hope I am sober.LOL
Enjoy the Mylee tomorrow.
I wish I could get one of his songs to play on my blog!!!
Damn it, it's so frustrating!
I didn't mean the Mylee...I meant my Mylee.
Well, I thought it was fun to remember that...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, GIRLS!
Very important peon...LMAS; I can relate.
Morning girls...I see you guys have been up a while:)
Steph, nice gifts and brunch!
I am getting gifts, too! It is so fun:)We are also doing brunch at the Rancho Bernado Winery tomorrow - how close is the closet winery to us, Steph?
Will have to check the tires, although that is Pauls department.
Yes, Kathi - that was "spam"!
Steph, we have been packing and all...I can't wait to see Ansley play with the Dora house and stuff I am saving, I am going to set up her own corner in Dailens room!
Fun:)
Stephanie,
Check this out:
http://www.tennesseewines.com/greentop_vineyards.htm
We are going this summer - there may be one closer - I didn't really look on the web page for long.
