Speaking of sweating, I am off to the YMCA...today, I will increase my run from one mile to a mile and a half...I am so pitiful!!! LOL! I keep telling myself that I can turn myself into a runner, so we will see if my body agrees:)
DID IT! Ran a mile and a half...will do it all week and then move up to 2 miles next week. Last week I did 1 mile...
Then I got in the Sauna, geez louise - its hot as %^(@ in there!
We might get a little snow this afternoon/evening:) So, I checked to make sure we had plenty of comfort food for the kids...hot chocolate, soup, grilled cheese makings, etc.

ANYTHING you put here is as public as you can get... it worries me when you share things that are important to your family...and then say to keep it on this blog. Thats not realistic honey... its the INTERNET... I tell my kids - dont put anything here that you would care who sees... so... just a thought. Maybe private things should be shared in an email or something. Just dont want you or your family disappointed.

Of course we didnt do anything wrong Kathy. This forum is intened to share our trials and tribulations with our weight adventures... Not personal and private stuff. The internet is never a place for that. Whether the blog is marked private or not... If someone REALLY wants in - they can get in. My only point is anyone using a blog or other internet media should use common sense on whats posted. With that... I drop the issue and wont bring it up again.
And sure Kathi... if Kristi asks I will tell her when i see her.

Here's a tidbit into my world :)
2 weeks ago in my vehicle...I didn't know I was sharing my mixed nuts with ants...I'd like to think I didn't eat any by accident (the thought must go away because it makes me ill)....then last Saturday I'm driving along and a baby grasshopper is hopping along my dashboard...So, when he gets right in front of my face, I'm able to open the window and set him free...then yesterday before the gym, I get in the car to see a lizard on the dashboard looking at me...I was able to get him out to freedom also
Hey ...anyone want a ride in my car :D ...Oh Kathi...check yourself when exciting my vehicle...ya never know :) LOL
Wow, Brenda! That is funny, but I have you beat.
When Jonathan was a baby, we lived WAY out in the country, in the middle of a field. There were only 2 houses back there, and no lights, tall grass...
Jonathan, being a baby, always made a huge mess in the floor board of my car, i.e., Cheetos, cookies, etc. One day I loaded him up to run errands, and there was a damned field mouse in my car. I came unglued when that thing ran across the floor board, me doing 50 MPH. I screamed, which made the baby scream, we were a mess. I had to pull over, and get my baby out before that GIANT RAT ate him (ha ha! He was about 3 inches long!) Finally a Sheriff's deputy pulled over to help me and he ran a stick in there and got him out! :)
Sorry, I meant to say, I guess he was in there, getting fat on Jonathan's floor board rubbish....

Did run my mile and half again today...you have no idea how proud of myself I am...I have to coax myself thru every step. LOL!
Went to NRD Nashville today (where I will be working again) and saw everybody. It was a lot of fun, met the Skipper, had lunch with the OPO and the guy I am replacing. Talked with our detailer on the phone and HE IS PUTTING IN MY ORDERS...will be back home for good the end of April!
Went to store, tried to buy beer...had NO ID...other purse...came home, went back to store...geez, what a pain in the butt!
I know, I just came from the store on a beer run, too, Leigh Ann. That is cool about your visit today! How exciting!
I will have a solitary beer now, while finishing up my work (Marci, remember the beer at your desk? :)) and then I am going to have a baked chicken breast and lie down for a short nap, before my class at 7. Not a bad afternoon, hmmmm?
right on Leighann :) I know that feeling of getting through every step...that's how I feel on the machines...especially if I don't like the machine LOL ...what a nice day you had meeting up with the command :) I'm sure they'll be happy to get you back...as I recall you brought them in some really high numbers :D

PHEW!! What a day I had...went to the doc today (PC); I'm back on Prozac for my anxiety/depression..so we'll see how that goes; have to go back and see my most favorite doc in the world (gastro) for my tummy probs I've been having for three weeks now :( he did draw a cbc and liver panel, just to make sure it's nothing more than it usually - always - is, which is IBS/adhesions/hiatal hernia, etc.; went back to Fry's to return something and get something else, ate a late lunch at Togo's and now I'm here at Dad's (got here an hour and a half earlier than usual, thanks to my ihss worker; it really is a good thing, cuz I didn't have to take the bus all damn day AND be here dealing with shower day tomorrow); I'm taking a nap now...be back probably after dinner tonight

Morning Ladies! Happy THursday. Fred got the girls off to school, and we watched the news and weather - now he is out for a jog and Im blogging you. LOL.
Gonna try to do Seaport Village, the USS Midway Tour, and then to the other end of the county and check out Oceanside Pier... all this BEFORE the rain rolls in. Took Doug and Leslie to Claim Jumpers for dinner then we all went and watched Zach play soccer. His team SLAUGHTERED the first place team 14 to 4. He had three amazing shots... when it was all over Leslie hugged him and said "wow... your really good!!" It was very cute.
Well gonna hit the shower... and get ready to begin our day - they are still sleeping...poor things... their day was VERY long yesterday.
Oh... not many pics... my camera battery died... charging now! LOL

Well... it was an interesting and emotional day. Monday - Zach signs his contract and takes his oath to the US AirForce. He plans to be a SERE instructor... which is Search, Escape, Rescue and Evacuate. Lets all hope he makes it... it was a highly charged and emotional day...to say the least. *sigh*
After all THAT excitement... We took the BIL and SIL to Oceanside Pier...had lunch at Ruby's at the end of the pier and then it started to RAIIIIN. I ran the length of the pier and got the car and waited for the rest of them... LOL.
Last nights dinner pictures are on my blog now... todays fun will be there later tonight or tomorrow. LOL

Gwen, not taking classes....I wish! Just instructing aerobics....no biggie. :) And I am working on my certification. I have to see when the next class is. Sometimes you have to travel for them, but it's worth it (3 bucks more per hour). The money is not why I am doing it, though it is nice to get paid to work out, rather than the other way around!
Wow, Tina. SERE! Very impressive, and very hard to let go, I know it has to be. I am sure I am going to have to deal with that soon, myself. Jonathan is already talking....he knows every gun and aircraft, at 12. He asked about the recruiting process the other day. I told him, college first, boy! :)
Lol, Steph...wow, he's only 12 and asking already?! Which branch of the military is he talking about joining? I think all of my mom's brothers were Navy (my aunt Jen, the one in Apple Valley was also) - although, now that I think about it, I think my uncle Kevin was Air Force also (my dad was - served in the Korean War)

Well, Paul has taken the day off and we are going to run some errands, have some lunch and just enjoy one another.
Grace (25 y/o Air Force student pilot), a friend from Milton...who lives in the barracks and is one of the regulars I talk about...is flying into Nashville tonight on her final cross country flight before she graduates - she wants to fly jets - how neat is that?
Hopefully we will be having dinner with her! Paul met her when he came down - I just have to keep the Jeremiah Weed (whiskey) away from the two of them!

I wasn't at work yesterday...slept til 11:30 after a wild night before...was stranded in a remote dark area in Rancho Santa Fe...in Steve's truck...Went to girl's night out at Valley View Casino ..5 of us...had dropped 2 off and was enroute to dropping off Janet and Cindy ..had a flat which then turned into a dead battery....we got stranded at 11pm and FINALLY got a tow truck to respond at 2am Got home at 3am!!!! UGH!!!
And Brenda didn't call Jeff and I.... why???
Wish I can say I am healing, but I am not... Still excessive pain. And it was wayyyyy too swollen to cast it so I have to wait until Monday and we will try again. I have Frankenleg pics if you wanna see! LOL. Not pretty.

Jenna slammed zach's toe in the door last night (long story) so unless hes feeling WAY better HE wont play... and that will suck. He has to do his PT Test for SERE on Wed. morning to see if he is qualified for the rate. FRed thinks he can pass it the hard part for him will be the pull ups as most of his strength is lower body due to soccer.
Today we havent got an agenda... we will just play it by ear... which should be fun.

Brenda, I know...that ought to be fun with that guy in class next week. I wanted to suggest to him that he should add some height to his step....he only had one block under there..I didn't go there! I was getting yelps from the back of the class when I really got into the class, so I backed off... :) Hopefully I can find a good balance, and not lose anyone!
Tina, that is wonderful, not having an agenda...enjoy your day! I hope Zach's toe doesn't bother him next week....when he is limping through that course, he can think of his sister....LOL! That is so like something my younger sib would have done to me, prior to an important event! :)

Steph...hehehehe That guy is gonna get it :) I'm sure you'll find that why to keep all going in class...I know when I go to those (and not very often) I modify what I do to get through it ...whatever works!!
It's all good girls...wasn't about to get anyone out of bed in the middle of the night :) It would be different with other circumstances though..then I wouldn't hesitate :D

Hi all :) everyone sounds like they have a bit of spring in the air :) very nice!!
We're going to see the Koch's tonight...then Sat and Sun..celebrating Steve's bday with his dad/Maggie for breakfast Sat and my parent's on Sun for dinner....going to church early and then some class on feeding the homeless...I signed up to help at the church kitchen for one night this month..so they have a class on it....but will so enjoy the rest of the time here at the house doing chores and am so happy to do it!! :D
I am feeling sick at the moment..from a phone call...my doc called and wants me to start cholesterol meds now...vs waiting til my appt..which is weds...said it's really high :( damn...I've been doing so much walking ,cardio etc...I was able to lower it before and wasn't even doing this much exercise...then when I see her weds she'll go over the rest of the labs and figure out the BP issue...I'm on a pitty pot at the moment...I was sure that one lab of all of them would be good :(

how high was high.... if it was bordelon.. .I would try diet control first.....
I eat whole grain cherrios for breakfast every morning, and it dropped my chol. 40 points.... and I use olive oil in place of anything else.... butter, oil, etc...
I would wait and see what she says on Wednesday.. it takes 30 days for the meds to kick in anyways....

:( I was on chole meds before but the different ones upset my liver...so I'm thinking she's going to give me a statin drug..HOPEFULLY...that's why I worked really hard on lowering last time on my own...haven't done well in the diet right now..guess I've been in denial :(

but of course family history is a big factor!
MB has BAD heart disease on his side, his Dad and Grandpa died in their early 50's of heart attach,,... it scares me bad.. and he is so calm about it.... I say HELLO MB.....
Mike is 42.... your good cholesterol numbers should be 50 or above... and his numbers are 2...
that is scary!!!!!!
I know the alcohol is a HUGE factor, and exercise..... but you have that under control.....
so maybe recheck your numbers...
I have high cholesterol as well; I contribute that to my awful diet and family history (it's on the Casey - Mom's family - side); although, I'm really trying to get my diet under control (have all "lean" stuff in my freezer now, instead of banquet dinners and other stuff); but the bad part is when I go to my dad's, one of the bus stops is right in front of a gas station/mini-mart, so I go in and buy snacks and a drink...not only is it a waste of money, it's not good for me :(

Hot and cold.. the soft cast is too thick and nothing gets through... and I am allergic to the good drugs that would help. Tylenol it is!! I am praying that I get some relief from a cast? Fingers crossed.
I have been lucky for the BP/ Choles front, but Jeff is super high for both. We have been able to manage it with food/ diet thanfully since he sucks at taking meds. Can't even get him to remember to take a frickin' vitamin.

It seems like we all have many many challenges lately!!! I feel for you all. A friend of mine once told me (a single mother with Leukemia and she has five kids)... that God will never give us a test in life that we can fail. He even provided a blood donor to make sure of it. You just have to make time for yourself and your loved ones and take it a moment at a time... not even a day at a time. Just this moment, right now. I don't know where everyone's faith stands but her teling me that hit me hard.
