I don't know where I am at on the scale...the scale here says I am FIVE POUNDS HEAVIER...I thought I was actually down 1/2 pound before I left PCola! I am going to add 2 pounds to my ticker and hope for the best-I am really depressed about this, I look ok, though... maybe it's because I am going to fall off of the roof any MINUTE now! OK, Enough whine'n!

I am now relaxing in the safety of my own home...it was damn scary out there!!!!!!!!!! :( ..I had chest pains!! ...from Point A to Point Home...it was damn scary!!! Oh my...I hid in an aisle in Walmart and ate fries...in Target I hid in an aisle and ate popcorn ..I eat when I'm under pressure :( Tomorrow, early AM, I take Dana to the airport ..she heads to El Paso to spend Xmas with her dad's family...then I am off to do errands...I finished shopping tonight :D Between errands , will lunch with Tina...then between errands, again, I will go to the gym in the afternoon

Gosh, Brenda. I feel for you. I had one of those stress days yesterday, too, with my car. All while trying to work yesterday...ended up having to have the thing towed to the dealership for what was, thank God, warranty work. I had to ride in the tow truck. Something in the brake line broke. They think it was cold, and when I pulled on the emergency brake, I guess it just snapped. So I am driving a loaner and hopefully my car will be all better and ready for me on tomorrow.
Stress has the opposite effect on me...I can't keep anything down. Feeling pretty nauseous right now...I have to get physical to relieve stress...and apparently now is my husband's time to be an ass...I just want QUIET. And to lace on my shoes and run away! :)

Well, tomorrow afternoon, we're going to my brother's in Carlsbad; the two families (my sil's family and us) are gonna be together; and then on Thursday, we're all going up to my other brother's in OC; I'll post another thing on my blog about everything that's gone on since my last post
Ok... whew...Im beat. I finished my shopping (may go out again tomorrow for something for zach) and i made 2 pans of fudge... and 2 trays of Haystacks (which will in NO way be as good as Brenda's!!!) Now... I sit and eat pretzels and have a glass of wine. ahhhh......

I can't stand it when I'm late..in September, I didn't have one at all (I'm sure that was due to the stress of losing Mom though)
We are so blessed to have my cousin, Kevin (in Chicago..there's one out here, also), in the family...last night, he sent the most beautiful Christmas prayer; it's about a mother's first Christmas with Jesus; and even though we'll miss her, it says to be happy for her, for she's spending it with Him; my cousin said that this prayer helped him his first and every Christmas since his Mom passed (my Aunt Diane died almost six years ago)
What a beautiful prayer.
UGH! I used to hate when my sisters would come in from college and mess my schedule up! LOL But, I would be ok with it if it was my daughter home! :)

I managed to get in my timed run today, in the 45 MPH wind gusts...got back to the car just as the rain came...gosh. It was like running against a wall. But, I did shave off 3 minutes from my terrible time of last run. I am down to 37 minutes. Must do better.

Ok, on top of dealing with our first Christmas w/o Mom, Dad had a MAJOR "blowout" again, and almost ended up not going this evening; thankfully, my sister was able to get him changed (we were late, but the three of us went); Gosh, I wish we could have Mom and my two aunts back.... there is just a MASSIVE hole in our family right now;
Brenda, YES, I do feel so much comfort knowing that my cousins are just "an email away"...we were always a close knit family, but going through what we have in the last three months.... as my sister has told me before, we're closer to them than we EVER have been...we are so blessed to have each other (in fact, I got a Christmas card today from the cousin that sent the "Christmas Prayer" last night)
Gosh, am I ever slow....I just realized this is the first Christmas we've been on the blog; MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE; and GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE; Thank you SO MUCH for an incredible year.... and most importantly.... for being there for me during the last three months; I will never be able to repay you guys for everything you've done.... I love you all very much

Hi all! WOW, what an emotional day! First, met my sister at church (there was NO WAY I was gonna miss Mass with everything our family has gone through in the last three months...Dad didn't want to go; just wanted to get to "his kids", which was perfectly fine with us); it was cloudy and cold when we got there, but then once Mass started, the sun broke through, and shone BRIGHTLY on the two of us through the skylights in the church...needless to say, my sister and I both broke down - my sister had asked Mom and Aunt Colleen for a sign that they were there, and sure enough, there they were - and then I was SOBBING about half way up to my brother's... it was SO GREAT to be all together (my brother and sil decided not to go to Idaho, which they had planned on doing, to see my other sil's family; instead, they were all there last night in Carlsbad); and then, I sobbed a little on the way back home; I'm just drained right now...I'm going to bed; I hope all of your Christmas' were filled with memories that you'll cherish forever... Love you all, and Merry Christmas, again

Yeah, Marci, it was pretty emotional for us; but yes, it was the most beautiful thing, because I hadn't got a sign before yesterday...I now know that they're both OK (I knew they were, but it didn't feel the same since I hadn't gotten a sign before); it turns out that ALL of us (my cousin, Jeanne - Aunt Colleen's daughter - the four of us and I'm sure my other cousins, Debbie and Joyce - who lost their mom last week) were bawlin once the we started "caroling" in church); everyone, obviously, had a very difficult day, but think we're all doing pretty well, considering

Today, my daughter Dana texted me a pic of her holding a handgun out in the destert in El Paso..they weren't hunting (this time) but just out shooting...UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..she hunts like your family..only occasionally...UGH!!!!!!!!!!! told her guns can't be in our house though....not sure if they really are here or someplace else.....

I made a loose ground meat spaghetti tonight with the deer meat we ground up.. it was wonderful!!!!

Dana is having fun...she comes back Sunday...I'm glad SHE choose to be there for Christmas...she wants to stay close to the little cousins... there are so many other reasons why she doesn't want to go to El Paso...it's a good feeling when, we parents, get to see those moments in our kids that really make us proud :)

and yes when our children make decisions that make us feel like we did something right ... that is rewarding..... :)

Hey all! Greetings from Barstow!! Ok... the traffic stunk and a trip that normally takes 2.25 hours... took us 4.5!!! ARG!!
Then - since we are staying 2 nights instead of one... we had to bring the dog. The minute we get here...he shits on my moms floor... DAMN animal!! and he had already been let outside!! ARG. Next time... he gets left at home. I dont care.
So... its been fun so far. LOL.
Tomorrow we do presents and pictures and dinner.
Home EARLY on Sunday.!!

Marci...it's not Dana, but Alex (Allyson), our youngest 20 yr old moving to Las Vegas for work...Dana, our 22 year old is the one with my ex and his family...we think Dana is the one who will inherit our mortgage LOL on this house
I'm back at home now, Marci; but yeah, the last two days, as draining as it was, was a lot of fun; now I REALLY want to go to Chicago and be with my cousins (I hope we don't wait till summer, but we have to wait an see where/how my dad is)
