Well, I've got the start of a frickin cold (have had a sore throat for a couple of days, just started the sneezes today), so I'm not feeling that great; and it's still in the 40s outside here at my dad's house;
with my cold, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to go up to Tehachapi this weekend :(; but I'm gonna stock up on Day and Niquil, OJ and everything else you need with a cold
Oh no Kathi!! That's awful to get sick now :( Hope you can still get to the weekend party!!! Rest when you can~

You're not alone, Bren; I haven't sent out any...not sure if I want to, or even if it's appropriate, with my mom's passing this year and all; I know...it SUCKS that I have a cold NOW of all times; my housekeeper and a friend are gonna come pick me up from Dad's (I refuse to take the bus in this weather) and I'm gonna go and get some cold medicine to help ward it off before it really gets going
OMG, I had some Nyquil left over from another cold, here at home....YAHOO!! Took a swig of that when I got home and now I'm gonna go and rest; probably gonna need more, though; Brenda? Are you available?
Hey Kathi...Glad you found some Nyquil!!! I'm working til 5pm then have a bible study holiday party...I'm going to the store after that..if you want I can pick some up and drop it off on the way home, which will be close to 9pm....call my cell and let me know, OK....I won't be back on the blog until tomorrow...so do call if you need to!!

I didn't even send cards this year... just a nice email to everyone wishing them a Merry Christmas (and yes, I did get a response from everyone here :D)...ya know, and I have to say, that my cousins Kathleen in Chicago and Erin in NC ALWAYS write back (they're sisters, and they lost their mom - my Aunt Diane - almost six years ago...so they know exactly what we're going through with this being the first holidays and all...not to mention, Kathleen and I are only two years apart)

I will be leaving work 1/2 a day... Gabrielle's class had a book published... they each are on a page... and our local telephone company paid for it, and they are having a book signing at school!!!! All of my extra work for the holidays came in today...then travel for a meeting and Christmas party tomorrow, after my regular shift. I forgot what it's like to just sit...or sleep...but I am so thankful for all I get. :)

Not having a very good day at Dad's (yes, I'm still here); he refuses to take a shower; oh, he'll say he took one the minute I walk out the door, that's why I'm not leaving...so he can't lie; he is making it so frickin easy to put him into a home, it's not even funny..but you have to understand..none of us WANT HIM to go to a home; we're out of options and COMPLETELY STRESSED OUT at this point

Gabs page is about her curly hair and how it makes her unique!
it was really a cool experience, they had to make their picture from construction paper and make it 3-D image... and a real picture of themselves is inset into each page...
I tried to take a few pictures of the actual boook... I will see if they will post....

I say do it anyway, Marci....ATTA BOY, MIKE......and about my dad's shower... first, it's been a WEEK since he last showered (he REEKS)..second, if we start doing what you suggested, he'll use that to every advantage he can and before we know it, it'll be a month before he showers next; thank you for your suggestion, but I don't think it'll work (we've tried EVERYTHING..my brother, Jeff, even said that it's not that far off before we're gonna put him into a home, where they'll MAKE HIM take a shower); right now, I'm so damned irritated and stressed, I can't wait for that day to come
Kathi, you have to remember that your mom did that everyday, and NEVER complained... at least that's what we've heard.... it's a new experience for ya'll....

MB's mom put his grandma into a home... and they dropped her 3 times... (she only was 5'0".. and weighed 85 lbs.... she lasted 3 weeks there.... it was sad....

my grandmother was bed ridden for 30 years.... she died in her home at 95 years old....

Night Marci; we don't physically make him take a shower...sorry if I mislead you guys; this week, he's proven that he can't take care of himself and we want to put him with people who can take care of him...but we're giving him every opportunity possible to prove that he can take care of himself, cuz we all know that he won't last long in a home (although my grandmother was in one for two years before she passed at 97); I know Mom did this w/o complaint, and God Bless her for it...but towards the end, she was starting to feel the pressure...

Yep, Shani is going to take my duty for the weekend and I have decided to burn my leave and just go home. Dailen is sick...and I have ALL of my wrapping to do...and shit, it's Christmas. Now, I am behind the power curve here at work and as far as packing and finishing Mackenzie's poncho (CAN NOT go home without that)...so, busy busy, but I am smiling:P

My sister called me a little while ago to inform me that my Aunt Joanne (Mom's oldest brother's wife) passed away of a (second) stroke... last night/this morning

I'm here at Dad's now; with a very heavy heart :(; Can ya'll say prayers for my Uncle Tom and his family? He has two daughters and three granddaughters... Uncle Tom and Aunt Joanne celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary back in May; I think Aunt Joanne was in her 80's, so she lived a good, long life....my poor uncle and cousins; and a week before Christmas, too... *sigh*
Oh Kathi, I feel so much for you and your family... ya'll have really had a hard year....

Yep, it hasn't been an easy last few months, that's for sure...thank you, Marci; I'm about to call my Aunt Carol (Mom's second oldest brother's wife) to give her the news... my Aunt Joanne actually passed on Tuesday but my cousin, Donna, just got around to letting my sister know.. emtionally, I'm doing pretty good, just got the heavy heart/praying for my uncle and cousins....not that this is a big deal, but all of us first cousins are all in the same boat now, with the loss of a parent (Debbie and Joyce were the last two)
Just got off the phone with Aunt Carol and got an update on my cousin, who has throat cancer (and has a tracheotomy(sp?)....just before Thanksgiving, he had gone home from the hopsital, but is back in due to them finding more cancer in his throat....I think we found out about him at the reception after Mom's service; I don't know what God's doing to the Casey Family, but I don't like it
*correction* my aunt joanne passed today; she had the stroke on tuesday

Oh Brenda, my grandmother passed away about 13 years ago and Mike's Mom-Mom about 6 years ago... thanks for the prayers, they are in a better place and both had FULL lives...

In bed with my two little ones and Tori and Rayna are upstairs - we had a good dinner. Paul is watching the Laker game after we had some quality time! LOL!!!

LA - I am sooo glad you made it safe and sound. Bailey helped himself to a box of CHOCLATES that silly Tia wrapped for a friend and put under the tree... hes doing fine though...

Thanks for the inquiries, everyone! Yes, I got a lot accomplished and I feel great about that when I get the checks, but OMG, I HATE being that tired. You know, when you feel nauseous and shaky... I am still resting, and getting in some good Santa shopping...Grandma (monster-in-law) is working on a Wii for Jonathan, so I get to buy accessories...except NO ONE has anything left! Man, I hate that! Ansley's stuff is more my style...I have SO much fun at Toys-R-Us! :)

Brenda, about the marathon...thank you for asking...I got to go in on Thursday and meet other people at work who are planning to participate. I was surprised at the number. They are expecting over 30,000 participants this year...I am sure you will hear me talk more about it as it comes about...I am registered for the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC in April (which is a 10K, and ought to be interesting), and then the Country Music Half in Nashville again this year, which is also in April...I am so excited. It is addictive. :) Training starts now...
I looked at a map of the course for the 10K, and that hill looks pretty daunting, but coming off of the bridge and then the remainder of the course is pretty much downhill... :)
Oh, I also meant to say, that my daughter has become quite the potty mouth...My son has a stuffed Pooh that he has had since he was a baby. Pooh lives on his bed, and yesterday, Ansley told on her brother, across the house, saying, "Mom, Jonathan won't give me his damned Pooh Bear!".
Then she yelled at me, saying, "Mom will you come out of the damned bathroom?"
I blame her father... :)
