OMG; I just saw the BEST movie; it was a Hallmark Hall of Fame "World Premeire"....it was called Front of the Class; about a teacher in Atlanta who hasn't let his Terets (sp?) Syndrome get in the way of his career; I love those kind of movies about inspirational teachers

For me, the morning hasn't gotten off to a great start...had to clean up my sister's dog's poop INSIDE THE HOUSE; didn't pay attention to the "signs" that she had to go; just so very glad it didn't stain

Just stressed this week with the MED IG starting tomorrow...
Just finished my first session with my personal trainer, Chris...put it this way, I don't know if I will be able to put my hair up in a bun tomorrow - I did 15 minutes of "warm-up" cardio, then went over to the free weights for arms...then did some back exercises. Then, oh yea...not done yet...went and did some core exercise and finally wall ball throwing...this is where you take an eight pound ball and squat and throw it up on the wall like you are trying to make a basket..."you explode from the body of your feet" his words not mine. Tomorrow, I get to run - and I hate to run!

Dad showered today..so very excited; but not quite sure how long this will last, but at least for now, it's all good; go back up there tomorrow..but can leave first thing on Wed., as the nurse doesn't come back until Friday to shower him again
WOW crazy!!! Are you guys hearing the news about th F18 crashing? University City!! Thats like... 10 minutes from here!! Crashed in a residental area...destroyed 2 homes completely and damaged a 3rd. One home had a family in it... 2 young kids, a mom and a gramma. 3 dead, one missing. Breaks your heart... right before Christmas... poor people.

Nonnie had a few moments this evening... I went to order my Christmas cards this evening... and I called MB and said, Nonnie is making a detour... i'll be home when I get home.... Nail Salon... ya'll kept talking about ya'lls nails.. I was jealous! LOL
They were closing in 15 minutes... she said, "come in Miss Marci... you need to relax..... we will triple team you girl!
I had one at my feet and one lady on each hand.... LOL they were done in 40 minutes!
Everytime they said something in a foreign language... one of them translated for me... and we all bust out laughing... had a blast... told them next time I was bringing daiquiris!!!!

No, we won't be able to come...I tried to call Dad yesterday, but he didn't answer. I will probably shoot Jeanine an email later today. I won't be going anywhere until we are secured on Christmas Eve...I have duty the 15th - 22nd of Dec (I was hoping to leave on the 22nd) and can't start leave until the 24th...that way I can stay until after the new year. You guys should come up for the new year...what did MB say about it?

Marci, that is unreal about the Cracker Barrel. We don't get there very often...but that is so typical of old ladies...my grandmother carries insane amounts of cash in her bag. And stashed all over the house. I wonder how much she has, that she has forgotten where she put it? Well, I am glad an honest person found it and that lady was able to get it back.
Tina, that is sad news for those families, right before Christmas. You would think they would wait until at least after the first of the year. Not a very good PR move, I say. :(
Have a great day, girls. I am going back to the facility today for a refresher on my code of conduct. I just took the class when I came on with the company in September, but each employee is required to do a refresher at least once a year, in addition to any orientation you did...at least it's only an hour. And honestly, I don't mind getting out of the cave every now and again. :)

It was good to get out yesterday, even though it was freezing, and WINDY! I hate that. I worked hard on my hair, but still got to the front desk looking like I rode a motorcycle in! :) Oh well.
I am certified and compliant with Ethics for another year. Now, I get to travel in next week for the Christmas meeting.
Leigh Ann, how often are you working with your trainer? Tell him he had better tighten up!
Brenda, we are looking at a chance of snow today or tomorrow, and I tell ya, it's definitely cold enough for it. We should definitely have cold temps for your trip in a few weeks...definitely bring sweaters!!

I'm heading out of work at 10am for our Ikebana luncheon...I'm totally relying on my microscopic todo list now LOL...
Allyson and I decorated the tree last night...walked the dogs (although Powder's legs gave out by the front door and it took some time before she was on all fours), then enjoyed on the biggest tear jerkers I've ever seen LOL...it had Mandy Moore in it and the had leukemia...Dana is in Texas were they are having freezing temps too LOL

OH, HELL NO on the resting, Bren; Dad had a MAJOR BLOW OUT last night and we had to get emergency reinforcements in this morning to shower him...so I got 20 MINUTES NOTICE to get on a bus (brother woke me up at 7:30AM and I was on the 8:00 bus); so I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER RIGHT NOW...*sigh* GOD, I HATE OUR NEW LIFE; makes me pissed off at Mom again for leaving us so suddenly; OH, and then my oldest brother's trying to shit (no pun intended) about me "requiring" that I have more notice should this happen again... I DON'T THINK SO
Ok; I now realize that that was completely selfish of me to complain and "require" ANYTHING of my brothers and sister, since I don't have a job or any responsibilities (just talked to my sister and she made me realize AGAIN what they all have to do, compared with the little I have to do); I'll be going to bed early tonight, for sure...
Kathi, I am so sorry for what you are going thru... don't take it out on your siblings... everyone has different perspectives.....
you have your battles they have theirs....
you still have responsibilities even though you don't have a job... but don't blame other people is what I think they are trying to tell you... just pull together.....
and especially don't be mad at your mom... do you honestly think she wanted to leave any of you in this situation... it is not and was not her decision.....
God almighty made that decision...
and don't question it... just accept it....

Thank you, Marci; That's EXACTLY what my sister said (about Mom not wanting to leave us in the situation we're in) when I talked to her earlier... I was completely honest with her; told her that my stress isn't so much taking the bus up here; I love that..I love people in general and love to people watch; it's more not having the dad we did growing up.... i'm mourning the man I always called "Daddy" AND my mom; and it's just too much sometimes.... I did feel a little better saying that to my sister..cuz she TOTALLY gets it (not sure my brothers do, though)...think it also has to do with being WAY OVER-TIRED
I also know that it was God's decision to take my mom when He did; I think He was also looking out for us and knew that this would be an incredible struggle; and I know that trials are good for any family; shows you just how strong they are

Okay, we got about 3 inches. The weather man is saying it is the first measurable snow Nashville has had in 8 years. I hear cars driving down the street, and it makes a huge crunching sound. :)
I stepped outside last night by myself for a few minutes, and just closed my eyes and listened to the sound of the snow coming down...very soft. A couple of deep breaths out there was great! Then I had to come in and have hot tea! :)
Marci, I am right there with you on the power...that happened to us last week. It was out for about 6 hours, in the middle of the night. Definitely time for some good snuggling.
I hope I can sneak out this morning and take some pictures, before the snow melts. It's going to be 40 degrees today...
Wow, snow! Paul emailed me some pics and I will have to post them...I don't understand where my slide show went on my family blog...it was there and now it's not. Very frustrating!

Found a muscat canellie at BevMo... bought 2 bottles!! Hope its as good as the stuff at bernardo winery!! I use the picture on LA's blog everytime i want to remember the brand - and google the stores for it!! HAHAHA

I'm doing a little better this am; To take a break yesterday, I went Christmas shopping at Target (we're just doing the kids' gifts this year...got them all $5 gift cards, got my "mystery present" for the party at my cousin's next weekend and I bought myself a new cordless phone, since mine's dying); It felt good to buy something for MYSELF. So, no shower today; just washing up and getting ready for our family christmas party tomorrow night

Traditions? LOTS... my favorite is baking about 200 Christmas cookies and making different colored frostings and FORCING my now "too grown up" children to spend a couple hours decorating cookies!! LOL

No real traditions here... just have our annual family Christmas party with my grandmother's family; a lot of times, we travel up north for it, but this year, my brother in OC graciously decided to host this year; that's a hell of a lot of work, too; not only getting the house all ready, but having about 25 people over... usually we have a "grab bag", but this year, I think cuz of my mom's passing, we're just gonna hang out and visit; and possibly watch the memorial dvd that my other brother made for the reception back at the house :(; probably gonna be very emotional for those who couldn't make it to her service (and also for the ones that were there.. and us of course)
The party is TOMORROW NIGHT already; and then next weekend, I'm going to Tehachapi for a party up there (I think they'll be snow on the ground this time, cuz of the storm we're getting this weekend and next week)

MB and Gabs just left for the camp... he finally put some of my yard decorations out.... :)

KK, Mylee and Madison went to babysit at my sister in laws... and I am meeting Sam at the beauty school to get my eyebrows waxed... and maybe a color..not sure... and we will shop a little afterwards...
Gabs has her dancing party Monday night at the dance studio, and her school party on Friday.... so I will get those lists out of the way!

The visit with that teacher friend of mine was GREAT; hadn't seen in him in a couple of years...still looks exactly same as he always has; he's married with two kids; back at C.O., he had been going with his (now wife of I think 11 or 12 years) girlfriend for seven years, and we always used to torment him about getting married, so you can pretty much tell how excited we were to FINALLY hear that they had gotten married..

I checked our schedule at work... there are already 2 girls off on the 2nd.... so there is NO WAY that we can come up there for New Years.... we only have 2 days prior to the 2nd and 2 days afterwards.... so it sucks.....

I gave Sam $25 today and told her to donate it by Walmart... I watched her... there were 4 different organizations collecting... she went straight to the Marines.... when I asked her why... she said, "They were hot in those uniforms!!!" I said, I knew that's why you went there.... that's where I would have went too!!!!
They took her picture for the website! I will have to research andd possibly BLOG it.....

Christmas party was great fun. It was so great to see everyone, especially the ones that didn't make it to Mom's service; we didn't end up watching the memorial dvd...once everyone got there (a few were running late due to traffic), we just visited; it was sooooo nice; a cousin that we hadn't seen in like TEN YEARS even came (he's one of my Godmother's sons - she and her husband have four)
and the food WAS AWESOME!!! OMG..they had got it from an Italian place right near their house...OMG, you guys; you should have been there to taste it...had rigatoni, tortalini, ceasar salad, bread...MONGA (Italian for eat)
