Jenna has an ortho appt at 4:30 she is hoping to find out when her braces come off... I have my fingers crossed for her!

It's a bit nippy here right now, as I type this. Supposed to get rain on Thursday, but MAN is it cold today...feels kind of good, but it's not getting me in the holiday spirit, like it normally would, obviously.

OMG, I have been busy today...getting my "expense report" for the last three months to my sister, so she can get the form to SS; I'm being audited/evaluated (like I need that right now) to see if their overpaying me, which their not; but they have to check...why the hell they can't do that, since they're the ones auditing me, I haven't a clue...but I/we didn't want to run the risk of them STOPPING the money coming in all together while they do that; plus we have nothing to hide
Also got my walk in (boy, I can sure tell when I don't walk..my joints REALLY start hurting; it's almost like they're yelling at me to get off my ass and exercise 'em)

OMG!!! We had sooo much fun at our white trailer trash luncheon...many thought was a joke and didn't bring a TV dinner(so Steve and Stephanie brought extra TV dinners for those foks) we also had old dinner rolls from Medical Mngmts party last week...Steve stole them for our party...Stephanie brought also 7-11 apple pies....then we listened to 2 old bald men from the south compare thanksgiving recipies (Steve is a white gay guy from Kentucky and Gary is a black straight guy from the Carolinas) It was HYSTERICAL

busy, busy, here at my pad today, doing laundry, getting ready for the LONG ASS bus ride to the doctor and then straight to my dad's...OY VAY; but it'll be good for me to spend the afternoon with him...he's so sad and depressed lately :(......... and then there's Thursday; which I know'll be good in a way, but not so good in another...AND I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING TO THE CEMETERY, if we go at all :( :(; but I feel like I'll have some "closure" in a way, ya know?
But I got my hair cut today, so that made me feel good doing that all by myself (and beating the rain home)

Kathi, forgive me if I seem harsh, but why do you have to go to the cemetary? Of course, you can remember without having to be graveside. I think that is just too much to handle on your first holiday season w/o her. Just my opinion.
When my father in law died, my husband's mother said she couldn't believe that we didn't take flowers to the grave on father's day...I think about him all of the time, without having to visit. My husband says he does, too. I prefer to remember him, alive. We still go, on occasion, though.

Yes, all my girls are here and we are going to clean the house and start cooking some of the casseroles and stuff. Will try to make it to the Y for a good workout before tomorrow - LOL!!!
Paul came up to me last night and said, "It makes me happy to have all my girls in the house..." I swear he had tears in his eyes. We visited and had a great time - looking forward to this long weekend with them.
Leighann...that's so wonderful what Paul said :) that's so hard what all of you are going through...enjoy every minute!!! And Happy Cooking!!!!!!!! :D We just got word we are out of here 2 hours early...WOOHOO!! 12:30 for me!! Gives me a jump start on my afternoon~
Oh God, Leigh Ann; I was about to cry myself...
Steph, it's called paying respects to my mother; yes, I do remember the good (and sometimes bad) times when my mom was alive, but I haven't been to the cemetery since the funeral, and I believe that .... I just to need to go, ok? Yes, her spirit will always be with me, and she'll always be in my heart, but I just need to talk to her and I believe talking to where she's "resting", I'm talking to her face to face... I do the same thing when I go up to Apple Valley and visit my uncle; I could really care less if people think that's a little strange...for me, because of my faith, it makes ... it just makes it easier (I'M sorry if THAT seems harsh, but I really got upset)
Don't feel bad Kathi or Steph...everyone is different in grieving...some people go to the cemetary others don't...all for various reasons...I'm sure Steph only meant those thoughts to ease any pain you would have from it...
In our family Kathi...we visit the cemetaries frequently and even have lunch or happy hour there...I would go to see my brother in laws there and down the hill is a friend of mine...pouring some of her cocktail on her brothers grave..while some of my inlaws can't bear to go but every few years, and that's forced...

Wow, Kathi...you really read way too much into what I said. That was in no way meant as disrespectful. I was shocked to read your response. You just seemed like you were dreading going, and I was only trying to be a friend and tell you that you didn't HAVE to go. I was offering anything I had to help, but as often happens, I end up offending someone. But, if you needed someone to explode on, I guess I am happy to have been there for ya. I think because of my disability (and my sister made a very good point of this earlier this month) what I THINK and what come out of my mouth are sometimes two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT things; and, like today, it gets me in a ****load of trouble..so I do apologize; I am most definitely dreading going to the cemetery, but I think if I don't, I can't really start the healing process; I don't know if that makes sense to you... ? I love you, and everyone else, for trying to help

Well, I didn't end up going to Dad's afterall; TWO people, one being a new (male) nurse, came over to FORCE him to take a shower, which we haven't been successful at in the past at night; my sister said it probably will be "the war of the worlds", so too many people there would have made it a WHOLE LOT worse..I just tried calling her to see how it went, and she didn't want to talk to me (just because I rented another car to go to the doctor, and I only did that because I didn't want to be stuck in the rain, which it didn't end up doing afterall, on the bus...made sense to me, but apparently not to her); speaking of that...OMG, I almost lost it right there in the exam room, because he (and this doctor I've seen for 16 years, so he's almost like a family friend now, b/c shortly before Mom passed, she was referred to him) wanted me to "open up" and tell him about what happened... WELL, I opened up to him, but I was good and held back the emotions...until I got outside; and then the "flood gates" opened while I was on the phone with my sister; felt good to get it out, cuz my tummy wasn't feeling so good

Hmmm not sure...poor Tina...sorry you had to be there in my bad mood...when I don't feel good...I'm not in a good mood...did go to the gym...but barely...got home to ask Steve to pick up the load for me...LMAO...poor guy isn't feeling all that well either :( Well, we both managed to get done what needed to be done...my mom is all about tradition...it's the swedish in her...so of course..it has rubbed off on me...
Looking forward to tomorrow with my girl's, my parents and our dear friend big John who's family is in Pennsylvania...

We didn't end up going to the cemetery afterall, before heading up north...traffic was a NIGHTMARE on the 5, and it would've been worse if we had stopped...it was very nice, but oh, so lonely (and quiet; not that my mom was loud, but she lit up any room she was in and was the life of the party) w/o Mom; unfortunately, we now know what my sil goes through every holiday - her mom died 11 months before our mom.
I'm gonna declare something right now; I'M GONNA QUIT SMOKING, and LA, I'd like my ticker (starting tomorrow) now to be the number of days I've been off cigs, if that's alright with you (?); my sister noticed it THE SECOND I got in her car today; and basically chewed me a new one, but I SO DESERVE IT; she made me realize that not only would my mom be absolutely CRUSHED if she knew I was back at it, but also that my Aunt Colleen and Aunt Diane both died of cancer, and fought for every last breath (they didn't die of smoking related cancer; both had breast, which came back SO AGGRESSIVELY elsewhere), which got me thinking of how the cousins that lost their moms would feel if they knew that I was smoking; that made me think long and hard...
But I also thought about my sil's mom; she smoked for YEARS...and in her last few years, she was hooked to an oxygen tank; and died somewhat unexpectedly from emphysema

Hey ladies!!
Had a GREAT visit with my friend Diane! I cant believe its been almost a YEAR! Traffic stunk but I crossed over the 78 frwy and came home on I-15 vs I-5. That cut the commute in half.
We had lunch at El Torito's! MY FAV. and then coffee at Starbucks...then back to the train station and home. I have a bit of a headache... so am gonna take a couple Advil and lay down for a bit. My eyes feel a tad light sensitive and i do NOT want a migrane... so... we will nip it in the bud.
Congrats to KK on her car too!!

Mike did kill 2 deer, one Monday and one Tuesday.... he was excited.
he and KK go tomorrow for her hunter's safety and to get her license.. and they will hunt on Sunday...

Hi all...we watched home movies tonight from when Paul and I just got together...Rayna was almost two...it was incredible...Tori was black we spent so much time at the beach and pool. Laughed till I cried!
OMG; I remember when Tori was that dark!!! AND RAYNA WAS SOOOOOOOOOO CUTE (AND TINY!!!); I LOVE IT, LEIGH ANN!!! Is it your anniversary or something? Is that what got you watching them?

I wouldn't necessarily call it love, Brenda; in fact, IF the rest of them were to find out, my sister said that I'm done with the family (I agreed with that); She made a very good point, that I was too dumb to realize....OUR AUNT JUST DIED FROM CANCER two weeks after Mom did; and we have another aunt that died from the disease almost six years ago; that got me thinking about the cousins that lost their moms, and what they would think if they knew I was smoking; they would be so incredibly hurt that I would CHOOSE to do this to myself, when their moms DIDN'T have a choice in the matter; I can't do that to the five of them (actually there's seven all together, but two of my Aunt Colleen's kids - she had three altogether - aren't any help; and my Aunt Diane had four); I love them too much
Headin out to Barstow in an hour or so to have our Thanksgiving. :o)

Ok, so I found out from sissy last night that we might go to the cemetery TODAY; which I think'll be good, not only cuz it'll be mine and my dad's first time, but now that Thanksgiving's over, I'm not as stressed or anxious about it (YOU WERE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, STEPHANIE; thank you for looking out for me...and I apologize again for being such a bitch the other day); this'll really be my sister's only chance in taking us before Christmas, since she starts back to school next week, and goes to Chicago next weekend

OK, so weird Mrs. Wrather... we also watched home movies until 11:30 last night... we watched Madison & Gabrielle's births.. (nothing ooky).... and of course the video of my pregnant stomach and Madison shifting it everywhere... it was funny to see KK & Sam's reactions...on the video.. they where 8 & 9 1/2...

Bren, the deer meat... we usually let Mike's BF do smoked sausage... and then we also do stew meat for veggie soup... roasts, and backstrap for grilling... the backstrap is like Filet Mignon.. so tender... so if he kills at least 2.. it will last all year...
I usually cook venison at least once a week... sometimes 2....
so it helps tremendously...

Poor Marci, in the room all by herself; I'M HERE NOW; spent quality time with Pooh Bear today, so stayed away from the computer, as hard as it was... Marci, my sister lives probably five, six miles from me (but Pooh Bear is my dad; and I/we call him that cuz he has a round belly, just like Pooh)

Kathi, the car we found is a program car.... it's got 30K miles on it.. (I still consider it new, but the dealerships don't) of course they are hurting to sell cars, so you can really get a great deal.... we weren't planning on getting something like this...
I'm going to go get a shower... and get dressed.... Nonnie needs to go shopping again! :)
