Brenda - gym schedule this week sucks... I can DEFINATELY do Tuesday, and thats really the only day im sure of. If Fred takes Jenna to her Ortho appt on Weds. then I can go then too. Today and Thursday are out... as its Volleyball and Thursday I have to take our guests from India to dinner and shopping... wheeee.

Tori and JaVonte left earlier - it was sad...
I put up my fall decorations tonight...
Took Tori to the doctor and they think she may have ADHD and/or possibly be bi-polar. I was very proud of her for talking openly at lunch yesterday with everyone and voicing her concerns. We made the appointment and went this morning. What can I say? I have been so worried my entire life that I could be diagnosed with this that I underestimated its power on my children. I wish I could have it and not her...
She is doing good - not freaking out too much - but, please keep this among us. She has an appointment with a therapist up there at school in a couple of weeks. We will take it one day at a time. I am so grateful that she felt comfortable to talk about this with me and Paul - even JaVonte. Please say some prayers for her.
I definitely will, Leigh Ann; you don't want bi-polar, LA; my friend has it and it's sometimes difficult dealing with her, but I do, because she's my friend and we've known each other for 19 years
My dad said today that he wants to go through Mom's closet and get rid of her clothes, and I just about had a meltdown; I didn't say anything, but I think all four of us should go through it WHEN WE'RE READY; god, is that gonna ROUGH to do ....I am so not looking forward to that; my sister has all of her medicine, so all of the cabinets in her bathroom are cleared, and I broke down about that; it's becoming real and I don't want it to yet
Leighann...I admire Tori right now more than ever...she's still considered that tender age...yet, there she was...so open with those she loves...You and Paul taught her that..you've taught her so much about life, how to live and struggles...so many things...and with that...I'm sure she's going to do just fine :) Unlike generations before her...it was an unknown...the families and medical communities didn't have the knowledge and support for it ...Lot's of love and prayers for her and your family :)
Kathi...I'm sure that's a very hard spot in your grieving process...is your dad's condition something that should put a temporary halt to the emptying of mom's things so soon?? Everyone and their families are different but if he really didn't grasp why he was wearing a suit (at your mom's services) then maybe he doesn't grasp this...Just a thought ...so sad for you!!!
I think so, Bren, now that you mention it; I don't think he grasps the impact it'll have on the four of us...just like at the service, and preparation beforehand, he didn't grasp what or why we were doing it
I'm am seriously having a breakdown right now; I'm having my ihss worker come up NOW and we're gonna go to Denny's or somewhere; just to get out of the house...and that's only if her f***ing controlling b/f lets her; sorry for the harsh word, girls, but that's exactly how I'm feeling.....I did take two ativan about 20 minutes ago, so I'm calmer (and getting sleepy), but I still want to get out. I was gonna go and walk the streets, but she talked me out of that, so I am still here at home
Well, early diagnosis is good, Leigh Ann. Of course, nothing changes our love of Tori, nor our support. We are here if you need us.
Kathi, all bad stuff you are going through, that you don't really know what to say that would make a person feel better. Just know we are here when you need to talk. :)
I know, thanks Steph; I do feel a bit better now that my friend (ihss worker) came up; we ended up at Denny's and just PIGGED OUT; felt good.... now it's n'night time; talk to you guys in the morning

I have an appt with the lung doc today; she's not gonna be too happy that I started smoking again, but hopefully she'll understand that it's the circumstances I'm under that started me again;
I know what you said, Bren, but I ordered my groceries online for an in-store pick up.....is there any chance of you taking me? If not, Tina, could you do it? I'm gonna be on a bus all afternoon and just too tired to do it myself. If one of you gals can or cannot, call me on my cell 603-0478; I'm leaving for the bus about 11:40

I made it here at about 3pm, laid down and read until 5pm...ok, dozed a little:)
Then I went to the gym - Yea, I am as shocked as you! LOL!!!
Then showered and walked across the parking lot to this quaint little italian place and had dinner (were not going to go into details - just know that I probably won't be flat next week:)

I was blown away when Tori started talking...when I asked hard questions, I was waiting for her to shut down, but she didn't and that made my day.
I have always taken my cues from other parents that I admire that had older children...Steve and Brenda being the first...now I have Tina and You! I couldn't be happier. The hardest thing in the world is parenting an adult. Give me running noses and scrapped knees any day!

I don't think it is good...but, I did make up with my sister. We have all been in contact today. I told them if they want to meet with the doctor before Friday that I totally understand. It sucks but I have the authorization signature for what I am doing down here and I need to see this through...Gosh, that sounds so lame.

Pretty good. Zachs still bustin butt in school and working at KlasicKids. Plays soccer on Mon, Friday and Saturday nights... Girls are doing ok...9th grade is being okay to them... other than the stupid as hell Volleyball Coach and the fact that she doesnt play Jenna enuff to keep her happy.
Freds good... grumpy tonight...hence why im on the computer. LOL

Leigh Ann and Tina, that is exactly how my recent 3-week malady started...terrible sore throat and sinus congestion, and of course I never took anything for it, and it moved on to my ears and chest...apparently I have congenitally small eustachian tubes that will NOT clear...which is one of the reasons I am terrified to fly...AND I am STILL wheezing a little when I try to run.
We have run on the river trails for the past 2 days after everyone got home from school and work, and I am getting back to self as far as my pace...On Tuesday, we got there kind of late and so it was almost full on dark when we got out...I picked up the pace despite the wheezing. I cant imagine being back on those trails by the river after dark. Scary!
Tina, brats for dinner! Did you have beer too? I thought you had to have beer if you eat brats and kraut! :)
I am almost a month in to my vegetarian stint. FINALLY some of that extra weight is coming off.
Stephanie, vegan, uh? Believe me, I couldn't see any extra weight on you. Glad you are seeing some progress:)

They said that Mom has suffered a stroke and it has affected both sides of her brain...it's a wait and see approach...I don't think she is going to make it.

Steph...are you going to stay vegan??? That's got to be soooo HARD!! For a meateater like me anyway LOL ..I can't imagine being on the trails after dark!!!!!!!! Steve and I did it on accident on the open trails at the Wild Animal Park...they have trails off the beaten path...all we heard were lions...SCARY!!! You know they are in cages but it was still scary LOL

I just don't think I was meant to eat all of that protein. It makes me feel sluggish and heavy. But I can't do completely vegan. Animal products are in everything, even bread. I am just not eating meat or dairy.
I have 2 more pounds to go to be at my "healthy weight". My body likes 125...but I like 115. My current regimen is working and I feel pretty good, so I think I will stick with it.
Brenda that is scary about the Wild Animal Park. :) I would definitely have been running!
Our posts crossed, but you can see from my last post that I am not vegan, that is WAY to hard. And if you are vegan, and don't consume animals or byproducts, then you have to be on board with the PETA philosophy, etc., etc. I dont believe it is wrong for people to eat meat, just not very healthy in excess!
I did have a moment of near indiscretion last week, while making bacon for BLTs for the kids. It smelled really good, but I refrained! :)
Steph is the animal products in the bread eggs?? I imagine after being so disciplined with what you eat, your body would feel sluggish if you have too much of the protein...115!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! That's a dream weight for me LOL and I'm 5'2 1/2 (the half part maybe gone now LOL) maybe 115 for me would still be considered too much since I'm so very short...I have a LONG way to go :(

Steph...yes, bread is for sure my downfall...I've been working so hard...espeically the last month at balancing the food groups...and there are times I will still over indulge in the things I love :) But, I'm getting better at paying attention to what I've had the day before and what I'm having the next day...to plan for the day :) Several weeks ago I went through severe exhaustion...that lasted about a week...my body was just worn out...I couldn't shake it...what do you do ...food wise...for times like that...it was really bad...I wasn't sluggish...or sleepy tired...but my body was exhausted...I didn't stop and give in...I kept up the exercise...but Tina saw me and I was in a pretty bad state....then it went away...very odd!!
Brenda, you keep a very busy schedule, and you are such a giver. :) I am not surprised that it catches up with you periodically. I really have not found any food that makes exhaustion go away, for me. You know the point where you are just "coffeed out", no amount of caffeine will help. The only thing I can do at that point is lie down as much as possible, and ease up on my workouts. Pushing the fluids also helps me, as I have told you before, I am really not good at staying hydrated, and I know that is so important.
That is great that you are striving for balance with your food groups. I know it is preached to death, but a food journal really does help. But there can't be any cheating...you have to write EVERYTHING down, which really forces you to eat home more often, where you can monitor what is in the dishes you eat. I go by calories. When I have had my alloted calories for the day, I am just done. If I am still hungry at the end of the day, then I consider raising my daily calorie goal a hundred or two.
I am so glad that went away on its own! :)

Gosh I have tried to write things down...I'm so bad at that...I had been sort of monitoring fat grams...but not so much the calories...Huh...I think I'll try to train my brain for the calories....if it works for you...LOL...and it does...then I want to do that :D Thanks on the other help...yes...it all helps!!!!!

Hey all...I just talked to Leighann...she's almost to Jackson, Miss to see her mom...the latest update with her mom is that she's now going downhill pretty fast....then in the morning, Leighann will go on to Lousiana for her brother's wedding and meet up with Paul, Dailen and Mac...there's a chance Rayna may be there....

That doesn't seem right about the rice; I thought steamed rice was WAY better for you; I would think boiled rice would "boil away" all the nutrients
Wow brenda...that is weird. The only thing I can think is that by boiling the rice you are getting rid of some of the "starchy" qualities? As opposed to steaming?
That does make sense on both sides LOL...I rinse mine LOTS before steaming...so does that make it less calories?? :)

Just got home from Dad's; OMG, am I ever stressed out; but I am REALLY trying to listen to my bros and sis about not letting it get to that point...we're beyond getting him to take a shower/shave/brush teeth...it's now up to the professionals to do it; but he's already being defiant about that, so I'm REALLY concerned about what's gonna happen with that; my brother's going to interview someone in about half hour at his house, and get someone in there tomorrow (keeping fingers crossed and PRAYING)
PRAISE THE LORD; I have such good news, I don't know where to start.... my sis took my dad to the dentist today, and thankfully he was somewhat cooperative; but asa he had his fill of the polishing, they had to stop, and they didn't want to do too much poking around because of him being on the coumadin...but everything looks ok for now, I think (as far as any gum disease); his insurance was reinstated, which was the BIGGEST stress of all, since he's on the medication for the alz and the coumadin, not to mention all of his doc appts and having to pay for them....PHEW;
And then I just got off the phone with my cousin (my aunt's daughter); it felt so good to talk to her....such a big weight has been lifted from just talking about our moms (I can kind of hear it in her voice also that it felt good to talk about it). I'm gonna call her again in a couple of weeks; STRESS LEVEL IS GOING DOWN!!!
OH, and we hired someone to come in and give him showers....WOOO HOOOO; my sister said that if he's not compliant with that, plan B is to put him in a home, so I'm praying that he's cooperative

maybe yall need to have a family meeting and take turns to take care of dad....

We rotate going there, making him dinner and spending the night; we've basically had that set in stone as we were preparing for Mom's service (among the other zillion things we had to do that week); and yes, I totally agree that Mom ABSOLUTELY had a hand in this
Hey all! Lost our soccer game 3 to 5. Not too bad... spent a few on the phone with Paul, who called to see if we were 2 and 1 or 1 and 2. He was bummed to learn we lost tonight... *sigh* and of course bragged about how proud of LeighAnn he is... of course.

well it was a VERYYYY long day. up at 6 - to the volleyball tournament by 7:45... and there till 5pm. We lost ... and lost and lost... but we won during bracket play.
Jenna started in ALL games today.. and played the entire time... and was only subed out twice!!! She kicked ass if i do say so myself. Grampa got some great pics... so when he gets them to me... i will post a show.

Last night Dana's truck was broken into :( they broke the window and stole her sterio...I feel for her...but she left her sterio in the truck..it was asking for it...her sterio is removable and she's suppose to take it out ...SO now my sweet Dana has to save her money to replace the window and sterio...no bailout :(

the hotel had screwed up internet service.. my laptop wouldn't work... and Leigh Ann and I got WAYYYYYYYYYYY too tipsy to even try to type! we had a blast last night,
Saturday at 3, we met LA, Paul and the girls for lunch at La Caretta... we sat on the patio, it's right by the train station.. and our ears got blown out during lunch, but the kids LOVED it....
we went back to the hotel and the kids all swam.. and then later we met with John Mark and Linda for supper last night.... at Adobe... which ended up being the exact same menu as our lunch!!!! ha ha

I've had a busy morning...went to the doctor to get follow up bloodwork, saw a doctor (not mine) for ear pain and found out I have a pretty narly ear infection :( and I got a flu shot...been up since 5am, thinking the lab opened at 7; BUT NO; opens at 8:30, so had to wait around for a bit, but that's ok; filled up my morning...got home about an hour ago; now it's nap time before my ihss worker and resource counselor comes *sigh*
well well... you have been busy this a.m. gosh!
