Hey all, it's been a long weekend...
E.R. Friday night, Homecoming for KK Saturday... then KK had a retreat all day today.... so I've been busy with the kids... and MB has been on the road all weekend..

Good morning, ladies. I hope everyone has a great day/week. I will be at orientation today, so thought I would say hey before I am away from my desk.
I will try to get a picture of the facility today when I go in. From the outside, of course...the security is unbelievable there. They would probably tackle me if they saw me taking pics....this place is for real...I couldn't believe the application process...security clearance with FBI and TBI, drug screen, background check, etc., etc.

Good Morning!
I wanted to give everyone an update on my mom; spoke to the nurse earlier and this is what he said:
"She is a lot better, she is off both blood pressure medications and only taking one to help her heart contract. Although she is still intibated, she is breathing on her own and is able to follow slight commands with her eyes. They will be working on extibating her and getting he off of that last heart medication and then they will be better able to evaluate her mental status because with the heart attack and the low blood pressure they said she may have some brain damage."
Thanks for all of your prayers! They must be working to go from where we were waiting on a second opinion to the above!!!

I MIGHT be going to Chicago in a couple of months :D :D; every year, the women of the family there have a Christmas Brunch and exhange gifts; my sister has school the day after, so I VERY HAPPILY volunteered to go and represent us both..I think we both need this though, so I hope she can go, even if it is just overnight; this would be my first time at one of these (they've been going on for YEARS)

yqw (you're quite welcome), LA, about my mom and aunt...but another one did sqeak in (a friend of the Apple Valley bunch passed last night of an infection after surgery on Friday)...that's the fourth one in a little over a MONTH that I know..

I have a 2:50 appt with the neurologist tomorrow at kaiser (doing the bus), but after I get home, maybe? I'm thinking around 530 or 6
Whew, yesterday was EXHAUSTING. Some of it was really interesting to learn, like about the company's history, but most of it was like this,
"What are the three different styles of management?" And, "Why do you think people respond better or worse to different styles of management?"
And...
"How do you define 'Integrity'?
And...
"If you had a 'mission statement' at work, what would it be?"
And...after viewing some majorly cheezy videos...things like...
"How do you think employee Raul felt when his colleagues did not include him in the office birthday party?"
OMG.
In the meantime, I think my baby was evil to Mr. Paul. :(
She would not nap, and would not let him change her diaper, and I think she cried for mommy quite a bit which was really distressing for me to hear when I called to check on her...It was a shock to all our our routines, and I am glad it was only for a day. That was the longest I have been without her...she screamed with joy and started crying when she saw me. :) So nice to be loved...
So now I have officially completed the code of conduct and ethics training, and will only have to do CLEs periodically, I think an hour a year.
We also discussed the benefits package, which I was only too HAPPY to hear about...go without them for a bit, and you really begin to know how good you had it before...
I don't pretend to know what I'm talking about here, Steph, but have you considered putting Ansley at a sitter's (someone you fully trust, of course) for maybe an hour a day to start with? I think it'll greatly benefit her (and you) to not be so filled with separation anxiety, should an instance like this come up again, where you have to be away from her for a period of time

Kathi, I know from my experience with my son, who was permanently attached to my leg until he was 4 (only could pry him off to play with dad for a few minutes occasionally) that this clingy-ness is part of having your baby with you all of the time. I know she needs play dates with other children her age, and of course I am considering this but I do not want to leave her with a sitter unless I absolutely have to. I am too selfish...I want her all to myself. :)
This is the reason I work at home. I could just as easily be working in a cubicle but I pushed for this position to keep me "there" with my kids.
Besides, who can afford day care? :)

Steph, yes, daycare is extremely expensive...
I had 2 in at one time and it costs me probably around $800 a month... (that's Louisiana rates ) of course.... I'm sure every state is different.
Mylee is with a sitter and she is around $75 a week, but if she were in a daycare it would be $125.

I would have LOVED to stay home with my children....
my boss would not let me go... he ended up paying my daycare to keep me working.... now, they get off the bus with KK and I put them on the bus... so I got a raise!!!! LOL
Yes, I will be in Smyrna this weekend. I leave on the 14th for FT Rucker and then on the 17th I leave there and head to Kentwood. My little brother (39 y/o) is getting married and Dailen is going to be a flower girl...then from there on the 20th I head to Pensacola and work that afternoon.
Whew!
See you guys later, gotta put my laptop away before I head to the gym.

I'm sorry I didn't call, Bren; I got yet another letter from SS about an overpayment and just had another big meltdown...so had to call sis to tell her and just got into talking with her about how EXTREMELY pissed off I am again at Mom for leaving us so unexpectedly, we both cried and then I started arguing with her so she hung up on me ... BUT ...I called back and apologized for starting to argue, and then we had a good laugh at how Mom must be rolling over in her grave cuz, until now, we haven't really gotten into a big argument (VERY unlike us) since she passed; we both thought that she must be pretty proud of us for not doing that; we both realize that Mom would not want us to argue (she didn't when she was alive, but especially now); so things are good; and b/c I don't know where I am financially right now, I don't htink I could afford to go shopping, even for the basics
Yes, LA, my heart is extremely heavy right now; but I think what's getting me through is, even though we can't make any committments yet, I'm thinking we're gonna get to go to Chicago and be with the cousins that couldn't be there when Mom passed; and especially see the cousin(s) - and my uncle - that just lost THEIR mom; in one respect, I'm glad that Mom went as fast as she did, b/c she wouldn't have to suffer, and have us watch her do so, like we are with Dad....how's your mom today, LA?
Hey Kathi...that's nice that you and your sister were able to talk it out like you did...things like that are bound to happen under stressful times...so nice you both got to share those close moments though :) You come from a really good family!! Sorry about the finances...I know that just adds to it :(

LA, if there's ANYTHING that I got from my Mom's sudden passing, it's that you cannot let the past get in the way of things, especially relationships with siblings. If Shy's your sister, please try and work on it; sisters are forever, and you're BOTH going through the same anguish over your mom

What a coincidence...I have a dear friend who's sister is on hospice right now and the daughter is being very very bad...to the point where my friend is having the accounts frozen....crazy how people act in these times

It's really a shame that some people are like that...as if dealing with a death/someone close to it isn't stressful enough for the family.....NO, it has to be all about them, doesn't it; well, believe me girls, lesson well learned and still learning
At my dad's right now, taking over for sis for tonight; last week, I slept in Mom's bed (on the same side of the bed we found her on) and didn't get any sleep; might try the couch tonight; but one thing I always do when I walk into her room, is say hi to her
Well... CCHS kicked our butts. Varsity didnt even make one game into double digits... ick. JV either... but our Freshman team lost the first and rally during the second to lose 20 to 25... thats the best of all 3 teams...
JEnna was disappointed she didnt get more playing time... i hate this coach... i do not think she knows her ass from a volleyball..wow... its like...scary.
Well... gonna grab a bite... a shower and a bed. Im pooped.

OMG; today HAS NOT been the greatest day for me; my eyeballs are SWOLLEN b/c I've been crying so much...I'm feel like I'm falling off the edge, girls, and I'm not liking it! I feel like I'm shaking inside again; just took 1 1/2 mg of ativan though, so I'm hoping that calms me down...OMG, I've never felt this much pain (didn't realize a person could feel this much pain before); god, it hurts

Thanks Brenda, they just called its only the front axle.. about $150 for part & $100 for labor... so its not the transmission thank the Good Lord!!!!!

yes Brenda... so much going on... I certainly didn't need $1200 in car repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!
she only has 57 hours of schooling left... which boils down to about 2 1/2 weeks.... seems like I been saying she has 2 or 3 weeks left for months!!!

I'll have to bring her tomorrow.... and go back and pick her up I guess...

Hey Marci! Funny you should ask about the garden (Allyson's friend's garden) Sunday I plan on getting the plants together from my yard and have them ready for a delivery next week :) I'm SOOOO excited about another project...a friend of mine is thinning out her plants and had me come over to help myself...WELL this past weekend, I did just that...one carload and one truckload!!!!!! I still have the truckload of plants still on the side of my house just waiting for me to plant them...they are all going to be planted on my garden hill so that I won't be needing to water extra....which would raise my water bill...which I can not afford to do....I am SOOOO anxious to get started on it!! Will work all day Sunday out there :D Hmmm maybe an hour or so on Saturday between events!!

Speaking of water bills... I am on the phone with my water company.... I paid my bill on line and they turned my fricking water off!!!!!!!!! I can see where it cleared my account... damn it!!!!!

Steve and I got home from the soccor game...which our team won WOOHOO!!! Poor sweet Tina took one for the team in her face :(
We get home to our Allyson and her friend Ashley...watching home videos...she has completely freaked me out...she says her air time on the home videos put her in the background of her sister Dana...and Ashley confirmed it...OMG...so Steve and I watched part of one tape...the girl's watched 2 of the many we have...Where and the heck she got that idea...I have no clue...it appears equal air time but sure, alot of the one tape was of Dana's classroom...but Allyson said she feels sister got more air time...UGH!!! Silly, I know...but when one kid feels the other got more attention, etc...it rattles my world :( SO now, Allyson is demanding I take her horseback riding to make up for her being in the background growing up...I know, again...odd but I am going to take her horseback riding dammit!!!!! LOL
Yes, complete "physical" was performed, but Paul says, I need more "tests" run!
