Leigh Ann, poor 'Kenzie. Of course it is going into flu season, so I hope that's not what she's getting. We didn't have stomach components...is she running a fever? I think ours is just really bad colds. Mine always have the tendency to go into bronchitis. So I am barking like a seal, as my mother puts it. I have been wiped out...I didn't do a single thing as far as exercise this week.

Geez... its going around in Smyrna too? Friday was Tia... so stuffed up she couldnt breath - with the sore throat - ya know she feels crappy when she opts to sit on the side line for soccer. Today its Jenna - home with the throat and plugged nose... poor babies.

Kathi...so sorry for this process you are going through :( I'm sure from now on you'll be hearing people talk about their moms or other things that bring back memories of your mom and dad...right now it's all painful...but as time goes on...hopefully it'll change to warm fuzzies of having the memories to look back on :)

Yeah Brenda; my cousin who came out from Chicago (Mom's nephew/Godson), who lost his mom five years ago (my aunt Diane) said that I could be in a parking lot and just start bawlin..he told my sister that he was driving somewhere and saw a billboard that reminded him of his mom and just started cryin..he told me exactly what you said about it getting easier as time goes on...my biggest fear though now is if I get keep myself too busy, which I know is good, I'll forget her and I don't want to do that
Leigh Ann, at least you can put that on your resume for "Survivor". You ate fish eggs. That will look great on there, with cane harvesting and gator wrestling in the Louisiana swamp, in your youth... you would dominate that place. Said with love, of course! :) Those gourmet recipies scare me sometimes...never know what "delicacy" they are slipping in on you.
Of course, I can say all of the above, after my tirade about being a hillbilly at poor Kathi's expense last week...it helps to laugh at one's self sometimes, Hmm? Besides, it is a stereotype that totally does not apply to me, so why be angry?
Seriously, I am thinking about buying overalls and some of those fake, brown buck teeth you see in the gag shops sometimes, for the whole family, and then having pics done out in a hay field for Christmas cards! :)

Kathi, I think that is a common one...to be afraid that if you don't think about her all the time, you will start to forget. I don't think you ever will forget. I would think that losing your mom would make you remember many smaller details about her that you overlooked before, once you begin to reflect back. And surely there are physical characteristics that you inherited from her...just look in the mirror to remember! :)
Steph....I want to be on your holiday card list.....I MUST get that picture LOL...it would for sure beat our holiday card that the Wrather's and us took in front of the seventies canvas tent...with holes and mildew....tied to vehicles to stand up and our cooking pots over an open fire LMAO!!!

I'm trying to, Marci; but it's not easy, believe me...I'm REALLY having a hard time with this, but I kkow I have to pull it together for my siblings so we can all take care of my dad..think I'm gonna look up a trauma counselor online can call her/him and talk to see if they can give me ideas on how to cope with the loss
Hey everyone...had a break from nursing Mackenzie and took Rayna to target for "girly stuff" - basically hygiene products and some make-up. Then we went to Rue 21 and bought her a couple of sweaters - we had fun.
It's a pain trying to find time for all of them when we spend the whole weekend on the soccer field. I feel like I am such a lame mom....

...you are going to have good days and bad days...and that's okay. Be sad when you are sad which is quite often now, but don't forget that you owe it to yourself to be able to feel happy as well. I won't even try to understand the depth of your feeling right now, just know that I am praying for peace for you and your family.

Leigh Ann... do not feel like a lame mom!! Its hard to find time for all of them with school - activities and soccer when I AM HOME each day!! You are a WONDERFUL mom... look how beatiful and smart your girls are...they are a tribute to your "mom-ness"

I ditto what Tina says Leigh Ann.... you are wonderful and it shows thru your children... but I do understand trying to "balance" time with all of them and not feeling guilty... it breaks my heart to give one child 3 hours of your time and the others don't understand why they get left behind at that moment... :*(

But, Leigh Ann, soccer IS a huge family thing with you all. You ARE spending time with them, each and every weekend through soccer. That is such a huge thing. The kids know that they each have time to shine with their individual games, but also that it's sister's turn, when their respective games come, too. And they get to sit and cheer for each other. That's a good thing, too. :)
I guess we all go through the guilt thing with the kids. I am here even with my work, but still have to sit in my chair. Jonathan asks, "Mom, when can just me and you go do something fun, like we used to?" It's a tough thing to balance, and you in particular, with that commute. Remember that it is temporary. :) Hug, hug, hug!!
That's funny about the vomiting, girls. My son wants the old Sprite and crackers routine...and he fights it the whole time. Personally, I would rather go ahead and vomit, than continue to be nauseous.... boys are terrible babies when they are ill. We know this through our beautiful husbands! :)
OMG, I am sitting here at my desk and there is an animal right outside my window, crying. It sounds like a fox or something. You know that cry they have? Definitely not a cat or dog. Sounds like it is hurt. I am glad I am in here, and he is out there! HA HA!

I know I'll have good and bad days; I think I'm already having some fuzzies about how some of my cousins came, which I haven't seen in quite a while...I keep looking at the pictures that one of my cousin's children took at the gathering the day before the service;
I did talk to a "trauma/grief" counselor tonight and feel a little better; I'm almost ready to talk about all of what happened on the three days (Thurs, Fri and Sat); I'll let you guys know

hello hello...Leighann..glad you're safely in your dorm :) Woohoo!! WTG on the workout...I was to go after my car appt...but I ended up coming home to do chores...I'm taking a break and will run/walk the neighborhood after dark...my back is still spasming...I've always taken motrin because I like how it works..other meds normally don't work for me and I don't like narcotics...will start working on some stretching tonight and some weird body movements LOL that will work it out :)

Hey ladies! I went to Jenna's volleyball game. We got beat by LaJolla. Jenna is bummed - feels like the coach took her out everytime she made a mistake. That wasnt the case... but... shes bummed.
Tomorrow i will go to the gym. *sigh* Oh... and it the stuff at work wont be tomorrow for my department after all... and its worse that I thought. *sigh*

Didn't get to workout at all!! My chores just ended for the night...and it is 9:15!!! I talked to Steve around 3:30 and he's like...well enjoy your relaxing time home....LOL...he has no clue...even if I tell him...he has no clue LOL...I may not work outside the home for 16 hours like he does but dammit...I work my ass off!!!!! Sorry for the vent but I needed to get that out :)
Brenda, I don't think men will ever understand that. With the exception of Paul and Fred; they seem to get it somewhat; ...lucky Tina and Leigh Ann! :) So frustrating! :)
My husband nagged me into going running last p.m. He says he is concerned about my progress...yeah, right. :) I haven't been in over a week because I was sick, and damn, it felt good, honestly. It was a beautiful day for it. I think I made a mistake with it, though. I coughed the whole way! It's weird...definitely still asthmatic and congested/constricted. The cough and tightness come on the bottom of the exhale, not the top of the inhale, which is weird to me...if that makes sense! I did the full 7.4 miles on the trail and only slowed to a fast walk twice. I am glad we went, but my chest hurts a bit this morning. :(
Marci, funny about the boob comment...they are both a blessing and a curse! :) I strap mine down with double sports bras when I run...I am such a wimp about bouncing! HA HA!
Leigh Ann, so glad you made it back with relatively few snags...what the hell? Pensacola by way of Charlotte...I hate how they route you in totally the opposite direction sometimes! (Although I have never flown, one hears things!) :)

No, haven't been busy....been in the hospital; I'M OK...just had one of my episodes that I couldn't control myself, so called for help (911) and spent the last two days at Kaiser. Dang, Tina. I am right there with you, in traffic court in October. I got a speeding ticket...43 in a 35. I told my husband I hold him personally responsible...he was bickering at me from the passenger seat, because I took a turn onto a road he did not like. Remember in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, when his sister is driving and her mother is yelling at her, and she says, "I CANT DRIVE WHEN YOU ARE YELLING AT ME...STOP IT!!!!!" Yeah, that was me. :)
So now I have to go to court to keep it off my record.
At least it wasn't an MP who pulled me over. I would have died. Cute cop, though. :)
My mom took the award for "yelling backseat drivers"; she was THE WORST; that totally put a smile on my face when I said that; I'm still mad at her though for leaving us so unexpectedly

Sorry, I have been gone. I flew into Pensacola and during my ride to the barracks rec'd a call from my sister.
My mom was admitted to the ICU in Mississippi. I went on emergency leave yesterday morning and drove up here (about 4 hours).
Her blood pressure was too low and she has pneumonia...along with a few other things and that's just her physical issues - not her mental difficulties. Her kidneys are almost worn out, too.
Keep her in your prayers. All six of her kids are here - the last time we were all together was fifteen years ago.
WTG Tina on your loss :) After your week...that's got to make you feel good !!
Marci...yes, the way the clothes fit is exactly my indicator LOL...WTG on your planning for your walks :)

she has a breakdown of everything going on...
she is on 100% ventilator,
pnemonia in right lung,
kidneys are starting to fail,(b/c of meds that she was on for so long)
she has a central line and a breathing tube...
and the doctor's say her body is "septic".... they are doing rounds of antibiotics but they can't get a culture to grow...
I'm heading up there in the morning to check on everyone.... it's only about 2 hours from where I am at...
she has been on and off the blog... so you can post and she will check it...
all of her siblings are there with her....and everyone is getting along.
Oh Leighann...I went up now and saw where you posted on your mom...you and everyone else is in our thoughts and prayers HUG

gosh I can relate to the ex thing...I've always remained close to mine all these years...heck ...Steve and I vacationed with the kids and stayed with my ex MIL :) in her home and they love Steve too ~

We lost our soccer game last night. No girl subs. Had a great first half...then just ran outta gas in the 2nd half and they kicked our butts.

Hey all... talked to LA. She says she thinks her mom is a bit better. It was about an hour ago and she, Marci and her siblings were on their way back up to the ICU visiting room.

Hi all...
Yes, Marci and I had a great visit and my mom woke up and tried to talk to my brother...they decided not to try and wean her from the breathing machine because she was still running a fever and her blood pressure is low...will stay until the 8pm visit...
