Tina said...

No Kathi... just taking some hard earned vacation. :o)

Leigh Ann said...

Happy Monday Everyone!

Tina, I have a short week as well!!!

Kathi - DO NOT think that way, call you doctor and take out your frustration on them and the system - not yourself. You must take care of you, as Brenda reminds me:)

Brenda,
I already took the picture down of Kathi and her glasses. Have her email it to you. Sorry I didn't call back last night - the kids skyped me and then I was done.

Stephanie,
It was nice seeing you back on the blog - stay in touch!

Talk to you guys later!!!

Kathi...email me a pic of you and your new spectacles :)

Noboyz said...

LA, I hope your short week goes fast!

Kathi, don't take too many meds.... can you try soaking it in warm water? will that relieve the pain a little....

Brenda.... I swear those girls.... KK busted her tail bone yesterday all the rain, those flip flops just didn't hold her up! LOL (she's like her mom, only I like to bust eggs when I slip!)

Good morning everyone else..

LA, I think I am down a lb... my scale is being cooky...I may have to order a new one....

Tina said...

Marci, hope she is ok!

Tina, enjoy your holiday:)

Steph,

Kathi,
Hoping that foot gives you some relief.

Thanks to everyone who has been to my blog and left me comments - it means a lot to me - especially when I am done here cause I feel so out of the loop(s)!!!

Noboyz said...

KK is not as sore as I thought she would be... she's here at work at not complaining! :)

You are terrible rubbing it in that you are off after tomorrow... shame shame..... :)

I only have 6 more vacation days left until December 1.... damn....
then back up to 5 weeks!!!
Yeah!

yes it is quiet today....

Maybe next year we can plan our Booger girl trip to New Orleans and do the Jewelry Show and Bourbon Street, Casino...

Anonymous said...

:D Marci....I see it LOL!!! You said:
-Maybe next year we can plan our Booger girl trip to New Orleans and do the Jewelry Show and Bourbon Street, Casino...
....and I say YES!!!!!!! :D woohoo!!

Leighann.... :) HUGS ...SQUEEZE... ...HUGS... LOL

I wont't be here on the blog tomorrow... :( morning..day..or night.... sniff sniff...I won't be at work...I take my dad for a colonoscopy (routine) then I have a dinner meeting ....I'll catch you all WEDNESDAY...toodles!!!!!I'll miss chatting with you all :) but I do have my cell phone~

Noboyz said...

Brenda-- have a good day.. I guess... colonoscopy not fun.... even driving someone to that....
have a great dinner meeting.... I guess...

your day will suck huh?
especially not with us on the blog.... LOL
I'll be thinking of you...

I have to look on line and see the dates of the 2009 shows... so we can see which time of year is best... :)

everyone else must be napping... I"ve got 40 more minutes and then off to the house! and then with MB, he needs a new gun... (like the other 30 aren't good enough).. and I am not kidding.. 30!!!!!

Stephanie said...

Gosh, I didn't realize I had been away from the blog too long...sorry everybody. Thanks for missing me!

I am just totally preoccupied this past few weeks with lots of stuff "in the air". Just some transitioning in my job, contracts ending and new ones beginning, etc. I have gotten a couple of really great offers, and it's just hard to decide which one to go with.

Stephanie said...

Marci, that's funny about the guns. Hey, I guess if I can have 42 pairs of shoes, MB can have 30 guns. Maybe they are for accessorizing!

Tina said...

Stephanie Stephanie Stephanie!!! You are a shoe woman too?!? LOVE IT!!

Well ladies... my day is about over... im off to go home, change and hit the gym. Wish Brenda could go... but Fred will so that almost as fun. *sigh*

Love to all!!

Leigh Ann said...

Marci,
Glad she is ok - oh, to be young and resilent again!

Stephanie,
ROF...that is funny about the shoes and accessorizing! And yep, Tina is into shoes as well - I told her months ago that you and her would hit it off!

Tina,
Good job - I didn't make it to the gym today -fell off the roof and just want to cuddle up on the coach with a book.

Brenda,
I will try to give you a call - tell your mom and dad I said HI! You are such a sweet daughter!

Leigh Ann said...

I mean couch - the coach (Paul) is not here!!!LMAS!!!

Noboyz said...

too funny Leigh Ann... yes the coach would be better than the couch... LOL

Steph, welcome back..... and yes, I guess he does accessorize... LOL
and yes, I have about 40 pairs of shoes as well.. and added 2 more on Saturday!!!!
I purchased my shoes and purse for my Christmas Party and now have to find an outfit to match! That's bad...

my pool was FREEZING from the rain water... but I did my exercises last night and tonight!

and Steph, congrats on new contracts.. that is awesome!

Brenda, you are a good daughter. at yourself on the back....

Leigh Ann said...

I must have missed the shoe gene, LOL, damn it. Stephanie once had to drag me to the clinique counter - I am so not a girl at times - it must be the military.

Good job getting in the cold pool and exercising - I didn't go today - no motivation...

Kathi said...

You are a good daughter, Bren;

Hey Steph!!! Are you working "out of" St. Mary's in Apple Valley yet?

Marci, warm water does help a little for my foot (when I take a bath, it feels soothed)

fyi all...I wasn't frustrated at MYSELF or wanted to hurt myself when I almost OD'd...I was just trying to make the pain from my foot go away...I just didn't watch the time span between doses, like I usually do

Brenda, I'll email you that pic of my in my new glasses from my cell phone :D

Noboyz said...

oh the gun is so BEAUTIFUL....
I had to hold it.... and act like I was all excited.... I guess it turned him on!!! LOL
Gabrielle's eyes got real big.. and she said Daddy I can't wait to shoot this gun.... he smiled!!!
(his boy I guess)....

Kathi, I didn't think you intentially did that... just be careful....

Leigh Ann, if we go to the Jewelry show... you will find your shoe gene!!! LMAO.... to funny....

Kathi said...

The N.O. trip sounds GREAT, but, and I don't mean to control when we do this, but just for health reasons (my asthma, primarily), I'd like to go when it's not so humid; and things aren't growing (we went to Chicago for a family reunion/picnic in August five years ago and I had a HELL of a time--if I didn't bring my nebulizer, we would've had made a trip or two to the ER, and I almost ran out of medication cuz I using it so often, so I'd rather not do that for this trip).

I will be more careful, Marci

Stephanie said...

Leigh Ann, OMG...curl up on the coach...ha ha! Are you dreaming already about being home this weekend? :)

And yes, Marci, we must work on Leigh Ann and the shoes. A girl has to have certain baselines...certain standards! I think a standard 40 is a great number. And since Ms. Thing looks cute in her bikini again, we have to find a pair of shoes to match that polka-dot suit!

That was funny, remembering Clinique, Leigh Ann! Girls, I took her in there for a color analysis, and I was totally jealous because Leigh Ann is able to wear an entire color palate that doesn't look quite right on me. AND, the cutest guy was working at the counter. What timing. I have never seen a man working at Clinique. Didn't he say he was ex-Navy, or active and working there part time or something? I was trying to remember, but it was something strange.

Stephanie said...

Oh yes, the only other thing that happened here is that my hair dryer element went out, I guess. It only blows cold air. So, I am sporting "beachy waves" this morning. Gross. My husband loves it, but I abhor it! But I am looking forward to getting a new one tomorrow.

J'Adore Dior. Je detest ma hairdryer!

Leigh Ann said...

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday/Friday, HAHA...It's my Wednesday, so I will take it!

Stephanie,
Yes, I can't wait to get home!

Too funny about your hair dryer! I washed my hair the other day and realized I had left mine at home...ugh!

I have never seen your hair like that, have I?

Leigh Ann said...

Oh yea,
Clinique was funny...talk about a redneck - that would be me.

Between all of you, there may be hope for me yet. I can see you girls "dressing" me when I can no longer wear my uniform to work. HAHAHAHA!

Stephanie said...

No, you haven't seen my hair like that, and you will not, either, unless it is by ambush. :)

Noboyz said...

I am smothering at you two!!! too funny about the clinique counter...
and yes I know about the wavy here... mine does that as well, and I don't like it at all!

Good morning everyone!

Stephanie said...

Well, mine would not have stood up and waved at me, had I not teased it and moused it to death while trying to dry it! Normally, it's impossibly FLAT.

Kathi said...

Too funny, you guys! GOOD LORD, since we're talking hair now, I have naturally wavy/curly hair and one time I think in high school, my mom made me get a perm...O M G..you talk about your hair standing out and waving at you..shit, mine looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket; and no, I don't have pictures, thank god

Stephanie said...

Kathi, that's funny! My mom did the same thing to my sister, who has red, naturally curly hair, and at the time it was long, and she had it trimmed and permed and the poor skinny kid looked like one of those pencils you spin and the troll hair on top stands up. It was awful, but I had to laugh. She took too much pleasure in my misery for me not to take advantage of that one.

Being the NICE girl I am, I helped her tie it under a bandana every day until that curl relaxed a bit. I could make fun of her, but if anyone else did, it was curtains...

Tina said...

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I am very busy gettting stuff done but wanted to say hi and HAHAHAHA at all the funny going on here! You guys are TOO entertaining!

Love Ya all!!

Hey girls... we just got terrible scary news....

Hurricane Gustav is projected to hit New Orleans at a Hurricane 4... which is only 20 miles an hour under what Katrina was 3 years ago... on August 29... it is project to hit us on August 30...
please pray for our state and for people to make rational decisions for their families and heading out of the way so lives are not lost like last time.

Kathi said...

HOLY SHIT, Marci; I heard that this morning and my heart FELL! I was just thinking about that exact same thing you said about the people getting out of dodge, like NOW, before it hits (Please God, let Katrina be a lesson); AND HOW FRICKIN FREAKY IS THAT, HAVING IT HIT ALMOST TO THE DAY that Katrina did

LA, don't stress, it'll be fine; it won't be another Katrina

Kathi said...

(Bow your heads) .......

Oh Gracious and ever loving Father, please don't let Hurricane Gustav be another Katrina..and please allow your children of New Orleans be out of harm's way and get to higher ground before this disaster strikes.. In Jesus' Holy name we pray, Amen

Noboyz said...

Thanks Kathi!

Tina said...

Amen Kath.

Well - My vacation starts now. I just did the slide show of Freds party and now am gonna get changed... drop the girls at soccer (Tia will get dropped off there from the golf range) and Fred and I are off to the gym. Wheeee!

Still now "official word" on Jenna for Freshman team or JV.

Leigh Ann said...

I loved those pencils, Stephanie! Your poor sister. LOL!!!

Geez, that is torture for Jenna!

Amen, Kathi. Thank you!

Marci, do you think you guys will evacuate? There's free room and board at our place...please don't hesitate to head northeast.

Hi Brenda, glad you had a relaxing day!

Noboyz said...

Not sure what will happen LA,
Mike is in hurricane mode... and so am I....
the kids can evacuate but we cannot b/c of our jobs....
I called my sister in Lake Charles to see if at all possible I can send the 5 girls that way...
if need be... we will put the GPS in my Durango and head them that way .. I'll keep you posted.....

Tina said...

Hey ladies!

Marci - you can stick those girls on a plane to SD and they can hang with Auntie Tina! :o)

We have you in our thoughts and prayers... let us know if we can do anything!!

Noboyz said...

thanks Tina...
we just have to be careful which way to evacuate b/c usually the east side of where the Hurricane hits has tornados....
it's just scary.... all too real from just 3 years ago.... I wanted it to be like 10 or 15 years later...

Fred's party looked like a blast!!!!
all the pics were great!

Tina said...

It was lots of fun... we missed Paul and LeighAnn... but we had a great time. Brenda took some GREAT pictures, huh??

Noboyz said...

OMG... she did....

I am sure Paul and Leigh Ann were missed with all the friends and family....

Kathi said...

Ok, my heartrate is starting to go up a little now, which usually is an indicator of me starting to freak out (but not there yet); have you heard anything new yet, Marci? YEAH, send 'em all here..Tina, Brenda and I will take great care of them....we're to the west of you, so no worries about tornados

Anonymous said...

good morning all!! Marci...I'll keep you all in my prayers also...you too Leighann!!!! I just can't imagine that area getting hit again so soon after the last one :( so scary and sad!!

Tina said...

Morning ladies! Happy Vacation!!!! hehehe! I slept till 7:00!! WHOO HOO!

I have a nail appt at 9 - then off to the commissary -then kids ortho at 4. Brenda, if you can go to the gym this afternoon fred said he would take the kids to the ortho! Let me know!

Anonymous said...

Hey Tina :) Happy vacation to you!!! How nice you were able to sleep in :) Yesterday, for me, all was good with mom/dad at the hospital...dad had the colonoscopy and mom a follow up...then we picked up salads went to their house and ate..then we went to the beach, down by the border (they live 2.5 miles from the beach) and we collected rocks...after that went to their house to visit...only we all crashed and took naps in the living room LOL...It was pretty funny..because we each were apologizing to the other for falling alseep..yet it was all of us who did LOL...had a great dinner meeting last night... the botanical foundation (that I'm on the board for) vs a botanical gardens in north county...long range plans for each....

Tina...sadly, this very minute, I got an email to work OT the rest of the week :( I gotta do it...haven't worked OT since last year.... boohoo...I'll have to do my workouts at night (walking)

Tina said...

Hey Brenda!! OT is great so get it while the getting is good! Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! Im glad as I was thinking about you and missing you on the blog! :o)

Well dont work too hard and make bookoo bucks!!!

Leigh Ann said...

Hey everyone...we were told we would know this weekend which way the base would go as far as Gustov...glad I am heading out of here tomorrow. But, yeah, tornados our way could happen.

Marci - let us know if we can do anything! I guess Dad should be safe - they were out of power so long before - thank goodness he has a generator.

Tina, YAH do sleeping in!!!

Brenda, back to reality AND overtime, darn it!

Kathi, don't get upset...we will all be safe - take care of you:)

Morning Steph!

Anonymous said...

I missed being on our blog too :) loved catching up with all the stuff I missed....hoping everyone is OK today :D

I'm glad this weekend is a 3dayer off!! Helps after working OT...

Anonymous said...

Hey Leighann...just saw your post...wishing you well as you go into the weekend and next week with this Hurricaine...and your family too!!

Stephanie said...

Dang it, girls. Everyone hang in there through this nasty weather approaching.

Brenda, I love to hear about all of your committees and group meetings. That is so cool! I want to make green things grow! Unfortunately, even a cactus has no chance in my house. :(

Maybe I should try watering more than twice a month...

Anonymous said...

LOL Steph that's cute...I'm an overwaterer...I kill cactus from that LOL..I try REALLY hard not to water my cactus!! LOL There is this one type I have and they say do not water it at all during the summer...now... in the summer, the thing sends off this beautiful spray of flowers, which stays in bloom for about 3 mons...during this time the cactus itself (Hmmm or is it a succulant) shrivels and looks like it's dying..that's when I want to water it!!! UGH...I can't stand it..so I do water it..every so often LOL..I guess when it blooms...all energy from the plant goes to the flowers to sustain them...then through the fall and winter, the plant plumps up and looks really nice :) Awwww

Stephanie said...

OMG, that would stress me out, Brenda! Now, a plant that would tell you when it's thirsty...that would be genius. I would have to invest.

(That reminded me of Little Shop of Horrors!)

Anonymous said...

LOL!!!

my head is spinning...my husband calls and says...Dana's college books are $400.00 this semester...but not to worry because Allyson will only need 2 books so her's should be quite abit less...Ummm...Dana only bought 2 books!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to be sick :( UGH

Tina said...

Hey Bren... I so feel your pain...

Zachs were 370.00 and that was with 3 of them being used... Dana's were 400$ for TWO??? THATS INSANE.

Anonymous said...

I know Tina :( the VA benefits have it ass backwards..they should pay for the books...and parking..instead they just pay for the credits ...boohoo!! I feel for you too...Dana says she transfers next semester...happy for her...scared for her parent's LOL...

Anonymous said...

ok...time to leave work...need to run some errands and then go home to begin my chores...gosh, I'm in a pity mood :( I think I'll find someone along the way to give me a hug LOL...Moch and Fook...they'll give me a hug!! There my first stop along the way LOL...

toodles!!

Stephanie said...

Oh yes, I remember spending $400 or more, then taking the books back and them only giving you a few dollars for them. It should be illegal.

Noboyz said...

hey all....I had to drink a few when I got home....

people calling left and right for homeowners flood last minute... we can write insurance until it's in the Gulf....
normally I write about 40 apps for the month... I have 71 so far... and tomrrow and Friday is still on... I'll probably end up with about 90 apps...
I'm insane....

we will send all 5 kids towards Lake Charles... with Mike's GPS so they do't get lost...
if need be.. they will head up to my sister's mother in laws in Monroe.... and be out of the storm...
Mike got told if they were not at work with 20 minutes if needed they would be fired... so he can't go... neither can I.... in my field...
but I will get my kids out....

everyone's been busy... Brenda, OT I know your pain... but the money is good... Hey Tina...

Steph, Kathi, Leigh Ann.... hey all....

Leigh Ann said...

Geez, Marci - that is tough on you guys, have you started packing? Do you guys have a generator? I bet you do given Mikes work:) Was it hard to find gas for it last time?

Brenda and Tina, I so feel your pain - Tori's books are about 5 and that is with us buying the A&P and something else from a fellow soccer player. Her "scholarship" costs us big time with room and board and books and parking! We have some lucky kids:)

Yeah, I never got much when I sold my books back either, Steph - I always hoped I would have enough for a Starbucks!

Leigh Ann said...

Well, I am all packed and ready to head out tomorrow afternoon - I am so glad that I had leave papers in for this weekend (I am taking Friday off as well)! I don't see how people live with this weather!

Noboyz said...

it's pitiful..... and scary...

I'm always last minute as far as packing... we have school so it's hard to do anything...
we will manage....

I just stress not being with my children... it stresses me out....

we will survive.....

travel safe Leigh Ann going home....
:)

Leigh Ann said...

Marci,
I am praying for you! And I love you.

Anonymous said...

Marci!!! I feel for you all!!! Hang in there and be safe!! Gosh, I just can't imagine all that on top of your job too..being it's connected to the weather too :( praying for you!

Leighann...you too, be safe with your family...out of harms way!!

Allyson had to spend 513.00 for her books :( I'm about tapped out...but...seeing life in fear down south...I am grateful...and that my kids are going to school...I'll get off my pity self now and be grateful and thankful...

HUGS and Love to all of you!!!!!!!

Kathi said...

So I guess you've decided against Allyson going to Vegas and France, Bren? Did you ever have that meeting w/ her boss?

PLEASE STAY SAFE, everyone that's in the line of fire from Gustav..praying for you all

36 more hours until my appt. on Friday to hear about my foot ....YES!!! had to take another pain pill today and yesterday (I was careful this time though)

Stephanie said...

Kathi, you should keep a little notebook with your dosing and times that you take your meds. That was scary and I am worried about you.

Marci, I can't imagine having a job where they tell you to be there in 20, or you're fired. That is awful.

Not even the same thing, but with my job being at home, sometimes my employers think, oh, you are lucky and work at home, so you should be available 24/7 for anything we need. It is very frustrating sometimes. It sort of defeats the purpose of being at home, as my children really just see mom at her desk. And I don't want to be looked over, so I usually do as they ask. The things we all have to do to make a living, makes me mad sometimes.

Kathi said...

I take the pain meds every three to four hours (so it says on the bottle), and sometimes longer, if I can hold out...I can see, Steph, how frustrating that can be working from home... did you answer my question and I just didn't see it ..... are you working "out of" St. Mary's in Apple Valley yet?

Stephanie said...

No, Kathi, St. Mary's didn't work out. I did some work in Barstow before, and know some people there, so I was using my network and just searching the area to see if I could turn anything else up.

Stephanie said...

I only mentioned the notebook because I use one with the kids, when they are sick, to keep track and prevent under- or overdosing. I know exactly how much they took, and exactly when. It helps eliminate guess work. It reads like a nurse's flow sheet and it works very well.

Anonymous said...

Hey all!!

Kathi...No, we ended up not meeting with Allyson's GM...not sure what her decision will be :( when I can focus on that again, I'll get back to it...great that the doc appt is tomorrow for you...time to get your game plan for this :(

Steph...I'm sure it's got to be hard working at home...especially when the kids are home too...I do understand from hearing from others about that...it's a good/bad thing...good that you don't have to pay child care...but yes, the focus and availability must be rough!! I'm normally not one to volunteer for OT because when I look at the big picture...the exhaustion/time vs the monies after taxes..UGH! But, I was asked to work it..normally it's about this time..end of fiscal year, that we have OT

Marci ...how's the forcast this morning??? Haven't watched the news..any updates??

Leighann...you go home today!!! WOOHOO!!!

Tina...How's the timeoff going for you???

Noboyz said...

Hey all...

Steph, I am sure it is hard working around the house schedule.. have to be very focused and dedicated.... :)

The latest forcast is it has turned a little towards Lake Charles... my sister is there.... and then that would put us on the "bad" side... for tornadoes and twisters...

I haven't prepared anything yet.... I've been cooking out the freezer and saving my can goods! LOL
I guess I know I do better under pressure... when reality hits... I'll get it done!

Hugs to all this morning!

Anonymous said...

oh my ...Marci what's the difference between a twister and tornado?? No doubt, you'll get things done when it comes down to it!!

Tina said...

Morning Ladies. I just got outta bed! Lazy ass. ha.

LA I am so glad you get to go home today! Be safe and holler when you are home and safe please

Marci I am scared for you... please be safe and when needed get the HELL outta Dodge!

Steph - I grew up in Barstow... graduated from Barstow HS. LOL small world!!

Brenda, I hope your day with OT goes quickly. I wish I had read last night that you needed a hug. I would have jumped in the car and drove over and HUGGED you!! Love you girly!!

Kathi - take care of that foot

Noboyz said...

lost my entire post! damn...

Brenda, no difference... I just always say, twisters
and tornadoes... LOL

During Hurricane Katrina... we were looking out my back door and the trees were twisting and breaking..(the small ones) well, I said, Goollee(sp) look at the tree....
Madison now calls broken and twisted trees Goollee trees!!!! LOL

Noboyz said...

Tina, you be lazy all day honey you deserve it!

No doubt Kathi...stay on 'em :) have your list of questions when you get there tomorrow too

Marci...WOW...when will they allow for more buisness??

Kathi said...

He did end up calling earlier; the diagnosis of "coalition" (sp?) is confirmed...and it looks like surgery is indicated (the usual treatment is orthodics and injections--of cortisone, I think--and since we've exhausted both of those....); he said that we're gonna go more in depth and look at the pictures of the scan tomorrow (and yes, Brenda, I have emailed a list of my questions to my IHSS person, who's gonna meet us there, since my printer isn't working)

I'll give more details tomorrow when I know more

Anonymous said...

:) good for you Kathi!! you are very well prepared~

Kathi said...

Mom is going afterall; she had decided not to since my worker was taking me, but now since surgery is indicated, she wants to hear exactly what the doc says

Cats eat house plants? I had no idea... Ha Ha! That reminded me of my little dog, uprooting my house plant and spraying dirt all over the floor and walls(remember the picture I sent, of him running away from the damage, caught red-handed?) Well, I am glad for the kitty and for the lily! WTG, Fred!

Kathi, keep us posted on that foot!

Hi everyone - sorry I have been out of the loop. Left work yesterday at around 1000 after my traning was done and then headed out. I drove straight to Shelbyville (about 45 minutes from home) and was there to watch Rayna's game - I surprised her, so it was fun:)

When I got home, Mackenzie almost starting crying when she saw me...she jumped up from where she was doing homework and gave me the biggest hug!

So, this morning, I got to crawl in bed with Dailen and wake her...it was SO sweet..she opened one eye and then snuggled right into me. (I act like she three or something:) She said, Mommy your early - I loved it!!!

I have slept most of the day (after I took the van in to have the back seats replaced - some computer glitch) and now I need to get motivated...I can't believe it's almost one o'clock!!! But, the drives takes a lot out of me...LOL...I feel old!

Oh, and I am happy to see my hubby, too! LOL!

I will catch myself up on everyone's posts this afternoon... I miss you guys when I can get here.

A bribe ALWAYS works, especially with the little ones

Well fellow boogers...I'm having the surgery (HALLELUIA!!). Bombarded him with my questions, along with questions from the "peanut gallery" (my mom and ihss worker); he answered EACH ONE very thoroughly and explained everything in detail (god, I love this man); he said that it's not an "urgent" thing, so if I can live with it, he recommened that I wait; I told him that the only way I can live with it is in the boot 24/7, which he doesn't want me to do for possibly losing flexibility and muscle tone; then he said that since that's the only way I can live with it, he recommended I go ahead with the surgery.....SO, now I just gotta wait for them to schedule surgery and all the pre-op appts (he also wants me to see my primary JUST to make sure that I'm healthy enough for the anasthesia); b/c of my blood clot little over a year and a half ago, I'm more than likely gonna go back on Coumadin to reduce the risk of the clot coming back since I'm basically gonna be immobile; I am gonna be in the hospital for a couple days after, just for pain control (which was one of my questions..but he addressed that before I could even ask it)

Noboyz said...

That's great Kathi, thank goodness he was ready to address everything and answer question... it makes it a little easier on you... not so much anxiety and wondering....
I am so glad for you! I am sure you are ready to reduce your pain !

Good Luck, let us know what day.... will be thinking of you and praying for your quick recovery!

Kathi said...

Thanks, Marci; it's gonna be a LONG recovery...couple of months of being in a cast, in a wheelchair/walker and then a couple of months of rehab...and you're right, I'm so relieved that I'm finally getting this done; I know there's no guarantee with any surgery, but if there's even the smallest chance of getting SOME relief, to me it's worth it

Kathi said...

I will keep everyone posted though; I'm not expecting it to happen for a month or two though

Anonymous said...

Kathi...wtg on taking charge and having your mom and case worker with you :) Good you know what all comes with it...at least you have time to plan how you'll live through the recovery phase....HUGS!

Marci...I had a feeling you were in prep phase...gosh, I so feel for you carrying that load with MB working those long hours :( Get those troops moving!!! LOL You're on my mind through it all~

Tina...I'll be thinking about you all on the soccor fields tomorrow!!!

Kathi said...

She's not my case worker, Bren; she's the person that comes and helps me clean, do laundry, etc. But once I have the surgery, she's gonna do EVERYTHING, including helping me go potty (once I get trained on how to transfer, which I'll get in the hospital, I won't need help doing THAT), bathing, etc.

Leigh Ann said...

Good Morning,

Kathi - that is going to be MAJOR, but then you will be able to get around with the pain or the boot.

Brenda - yah, the OT week is over, will you be doing it next week as well?

Tina - have fun on the soccer field this weekend, hope the girls kick butt!

Marci - what a lot of preparation, I hope the girls help you out today:) I spoke to dad and he is getting gas for his generator and all.

Kathi said...

LA, no, I will be in a cast (splint for the first couple of weeks to accomodate the swelling) anywhere from 8-12 weeks after surgery; but I'm a really fast and stubborn healer, so I'm not counting on it being that long

Holy shit, Marci; I JUST heard on the news that St. Bernard Parish has been issued a MANDATORY evac order..I don't know how close that is to you, BUT GET THOSE GIRLS OUT!

Kathi said...

The doc doesn't want me to be in the boot all the time, b/c he doesn't want me to lose flexibility and/or muscle tone before the surgery...that's why he said that, since the only way I can live with the pain is in the boot, the surgery is probably the better choice

Kathi said...

Marci, that was our local news, not CNN or anything, that I heard that

Anonymous said...

Hey all :) just taking a break before I go shower...did my workout on my hill garden....Steve saw a mouse...bull*#^%) it was a rat...run behind me...Grrr

Leighann...mark me down for 1 pound gain...wasn't able to bike ride or gym this week due to my schedule...and eating bad :( Not sure if the OT continues next week...I have one area left to heal on the wrist...and my chores and job aren't helping it do that...oh well...life goes on :)

Kathi...stay stubborn!!!!!!!!! :D
they can kiss your *&$@# but not wipe it...LMAO...need some sick humor during this LOL

Marci...and all the family...love and prayers to you all!!!!!

Tina...you've been mighty absent lately...Hmmm ...hope the soccor events today are going great!! See you later!! 3:30 :D I tested one of the beers...they're good LOL

Tina said...

Morning ladies!

Soccer game over - tied zero zero... we out played Knotts but couldnt put the damn ball in the net!! Our forwards sucked today... Jenna and Tia had better shots from Midfield! LOL

Welll - I hope tomorrow will be better!!

Off to shower and get ready to BBQ!

Tina said...

Hey Brenda!! Our comments passed as I hit send! LOL

I will "test" a beer after my shower. TOO hot today. Oh.. and Im flat AGAIN. damn it... did the gym 4 days this week... just to freaking be flat. *sigh*

Noboyz said...

Hey all,
a busy day again....
Madi and Gabby are enjoying the pool right now.... it's a beautiful day... "the calm before the storm" I am sure....
I have 3 loads of clothes left to wash.... I have put all my waters in my freezer to keep my food as long as possible.... if not....
I've got good insurance!!!! LOL

I have to wait for MB to do the rest.... I guess tonight at 10 when he gets home... flip the trapoline and lay the swingset on it's side and my wooden swing.. and my bistro set outside....

Brenda, will try and get some good pics for you..... hopefully not of my house!!!!!! I'm just scared of my BIG trees around my house....
they are over 30 years old... so really massive..... it's been raining alot... so these BIG trees uproot easily....

I'll try and stay up to date with all of you.....
it is suppose to hit landfall sometimes Monday night at a Cat 4...
which is massive... Katrina was a 5...

I will have time to secure my house and then report to work....
once it hits...

I was going to let the girls evacuate tomorrow..... but hell... we don't know where it is going yet.... I rather have them here with me than worry if they are on the road.....

Kathi said...

It is WAY too hot today..I finally caved and had to turn my a/c on

Kathi said...

Yeah, but Marci, you want them on the road now...the traffic is the shits already, it'll be ten times that tomorrow...have them go late tonight

Kathi said...

have them go now before they won't be able to get to wherever they're going at all. I don't mean to freak you out or anything, but I've seen what the traffic is like on the news..yes, it's a mass exodus right now, that's why I'm suggesting they go later tonight, when, hopefully, the traffic isn't so bad...you don't want whoever is driving to have the stress of the hurricane, you guys and the traffic on their mind WHILE driving

Noboyz said...

Kathi,
its more than just putting them in a vehicle and evacuating....
we have no clue here it is hitting...
I can't send themn to my sister's now, b/c Calcasieu Parish is also mandatory evacs....
if it gets bad enough... I will evac with them..... come back later for my job....

Kathi said...

What about Mike? Is he gonna go with you guys? I can't see his work making him stay through a cat 4 hurricane..I was just looking at pictures on the internet and came across one from St. Charles HealthCare Center...the pic show them packing up food and getting ready to evacuate the patients..I'm so scared for you guys

What about you, LA? Is your family getting ready to get out of dodge?

Noboyz said...

Mike and I both have to be able to report to work ASAP....
Mike and then supply and work on the generators for Hospitals, Retirement Homes, schools/shelters/ etc....
I have to do claims and checks for people....
we both have to be available.....
I would have to send my kids 3 states up.... and I am just not ready to put them on the road with an official adult!
Madison is really calm... Gabs is my panicker right now....

I still have to flip the trampoline and lay the swing sets down..... everything else done!

2 loads of clothes left.... gonna start with nothing dirty!!!!!!!

Damn Gustav!!!!!!!!

Stephanie said...

Marci, I am holding my breath for y'all. I hope that thing stays out of the loop current. Stay as safe as you can.

Kathi said...

I know; I've been watching CNN and the WC all night to see if he gets weaker, changes direction, etc. Of course, I'm hoping for both of those...where would you send them, up to TN now? How far are the communities that got hit by Katrina from you? I would hate to work in both of your fields for this exact reason

Kathi said...

A couple of our local Red Cross people are on their way to, I think, Texas; in case they get an influx of evacuees...it sounds like Katrina was an ENORMOUS wake up call and people are heeding the orders to get out..my prayers are being answered
