Going to vegas Kathi... a friend of freds gave us his timeshare at Tahiti Resort on Tropicana Ave. Sand bottom pools... two bedroom suite... it should be VERY relaxing. Then, Saturday on the way back we stay in Barstow with family and go see my neices' dance recital.

WOW, that does sound exciting; dress VERY COOL; my godmother, who lives in Vegas, says it's very hot there already. I'm gonna just miss my cousins' dancing competition (the same cousins I saw dancing on my birthday here in El Cajon); they're gonna be out there on the Fourth of July

Oh Marci... my heart goes out to those parents... One grows up expecting to lose their parents... as that is the way it is, but to lose a child... I dont know how anyone gets beyond that... My prayers are with them and my heart breaks for them.

I don't want their start of their "adult" life to be so negative... but they do have to deal with death... it just breaks my heart when my children hurt and I have no control.....

Yes... watching your babies hurt is a terrible place to be. Just hold them when they cry... thats all you can do... Love ya girl!
Yeah, Marci; just let them mourn and hold them when they do; I think that's the best thing anyone can do in these circumstances...I don't know if any words can be said to comfort 'em.. maybe just remind them that their friends are in a much better place and that God needed them with Him more than down here... don't know if that helps, but that's what I'd say

yes Kathi, definitely comforting... for me as a parent if anything.. they (the kids) just get mad if you make comments like that. at this point, they questions God and get very angry... all a part of learning..

I'm sorry about the comment about your eyebrows, Leigh Ann; hope no hard feelings are there; I didn't so much have the big hair, but I was a SCRAWNY thing when I was younger - mostly cuz of medication I was taking, but still; I looked anorexic (sp?) and my grandmother wasn't shy about telling me so...lol

Brenda congrats for your brother. Usually I go to La Jolla Shores because you can swim out pretty far and spend the entire day in the water which is calm and warm enough. But it was busy both days. Finally its cooling down.
Tina have fun in Vegas. I am jealous, I really want to get away.
But everything is pretty much on hold because of this stupid offer we have on a house, which is a short sale, so the bank is being a pain. Very frustrating.

I'm up cuz I couldn't sleep, and I can't seem to get my dad out of my mind, so I'm gonna do some research on Alzheimer's;
I didn't have big hair. My hair is STRAIGHT and FLAT...always has been. No amount of teasing ever accomplished much, even with hair spray! I did go from middle of my back length to Jamie Lee Curtis short in 10th grade...which was something I considered risky, but everyone LOVED it. My best friend screamed and got thrown out of 1st period when I walked in that first day after my haircut. :) (Yep, you all will recall Lisa, the VIP girl, with the coffee mug? She had HUGE hair!!! I miss her!) My class picture is still very cute...I will see if I can transfer to digital and forward to Leigh Ann. I look about 12 years old...and I am wearing a totally nerdy pink sweater vest...what a dork.

Morning Ladies. Fred and Zach just took Zachs car back to the shop to have a few more things "noted". We had it painted and there are a couple of "mistakes" that fred wants them to fix. If you all knew my hubby... you would know that this is NO surprise as he is a perfectionist and would find a flaw in Eve if given the chance. haha.
We decided to go see BLUE MAN GROUP at the Venetian on Thursday... we have been one before. Its an INCREDIBLE show!! The girls loved it and I am sure (since it changes each year) will love it again! I am very excited. I want to see Wayne Brady too...but fred hates him, so I doubt THAT will be happening.
Well - gotta hit the shower, go to the grocery store, go to the school - and then pack the car... from there... we are OUTTA HERE!!!

Bren, Dad was REAL grumpy and aggitated(sp?) yesterday, when they came and took me to the store. Mom said that he was having a bad day. I don't know if his medication is working for him (he's on Paxil and something else for the aggitation; and of course Ariceph(sp?) for the Alzheimers); Yeah, I did get some sleep; didn't do research on Alzheimers, cuz I got sick and then went back to bed.
I don't have any old pics of me, so I won't be posting :(

Yeah, it's hard sometimes when Dad gets that way...I'm doing Ok though; it was real hard in the beginning to deal with, but I've learned a lot from Mom; she says it's part of the disease
Think I'm gonna go up to my parents more often and stay with him for a bit; he's alone during the day when Mom's at work..don't know about today though; have to call him and see how he's doing
The house is north of the 56 off Pomerado and twin peaks rd. If you know the target shopping center up there, it's north of that. It's just getting frustrating because not only am I not able to go any vacations because of this, our lease is up end of June and we are rolling month to month which makes it more expensive here and I have a friend I have known since I was 8 getting married back home in Lebanon. And I am more than likely not going to make it seeing as I have no plans to go yet, waiting to see if we go into escrow. That's what is really getting to me. And I hope that she can forgive me and understand my situation. Regardless Chris cant go with me, which makes me not want to take vacation time without him and spend $2000 on a ticket so I can travel alone. Don't know what to do. I hope she can understand.
Tina have fun and a good drive out there. I heard the Blue man group is good. Vegas is always fun.

Today we:
Had the van seat fixed and the oil changed.
Went to DMV and got new licenses and registered to vote.
Took all my uniforms in to be pressed and hemmed.
Faxed all TRICARE paperwork to change doctors and dentists.
Had account rollover (?) paperwork notorized and sent off.
Had Mackenzie's paperwork notorized for soccer and copies of birthcert's made.
Made appt for Mercedes for in the am - air conditioner work.
Made arrangements to pick up check from Watsons - the $400 they are reimbursing us for the poor installation process.
Hmmm...think thats it. Fixin to drop off the kids and Paul to pick up the van so they can go to soccer camp and I am heading to the YMCA to work out!!!

We all leave Friday Morning...we are staying on the beach. Paul and the kids head back on Sunday afternoon and I check in on Monday morning...I am nervous!

I started the DEEP cleaning here..Leighann, I didn't even bother when you guys were here LOL and for the party...I figured...it was going to be dark most of the time, so I didn't bother...but now that the Bartons are coming for 9 days...I really need too LOL...so I have my brother and I doing some each day and by next Tuesday I'll feel good about everyone sleeping anywhere and everywhere :)

went tonight to visit with my bosses daughter in law, who had her sweet baby the same day as Mylee... they are birthday buddies... bad news... Kim, the mom, 36 years old, had a brain tumor removed 3 years ago... and it is back... and attached to a main artery now... she and her husband (my make shift brother) Garris fly out on MOnday to Boston to see a specialist there...
I can't take much more so close to home... it's so terrible...
we visited tonight and took pictures of the babies together...
Sam and KK went to the wake tonight... on KK's way home, she threw up all in her friends car.... poor baby... she said she was just sick to her stomach and had never experienced anything like that before...
I just ache tonight.... wondering where to turn...
just SOOOO much in the last 4 days.... that affect so many people...
I may not post for the next few days... I need to enjoy my children.... MORE.... and not be preoccupied with the fast pace life.... enjoy the little things...

Hey Rima!! I've not even seen where Fontana is LOL...We are to drop him off off the 18th...so we'll go up that morning and then drive home same day...He'll be staying in a hotel there...the school/hotel will shuttle them back and forth ...Oh gosh, I can just imagine the HEAT!! UGH!!
I need to find a pic of me LOL....I may have one on my old school ID card...it's just awful...I tried to cut and feather my hair...well I tend to have naturally curly hair, but when I cut it wet...thought it worked out great ...around my face and forehead...then it dried....and I cried LOL....I used those comb barrette things...for about 5 months until the hair grew out...I tried to camaflouge that I had cut my hair LOL...ok...making a note to find that picture LOL

Marci I am so sorry for the girls loss i will be praying forthem and the family. i will be at the funersl home the next couple of days as well one of my dearest friends (we'vebeen friends since elemntary school) granny did last night. At least for them there is the thankfulness she is no longer suffering and wiht her husband now. Death is so hard when it is a young person and I cannot imagine a child. My heardt breaks for them.

Brenda, ouch on the shingles...John had shingles about 10 years ago...they say stress and illness can bring it out...his was stress. I took him to the doctor and he said, "WOAH...yep. Shingles!" He didn't have a lot of pain with his...how is Steve on that?
Crystal, no. I am from Nashville, and went to Metro Schools, Hendersonville and Hunter's Lane. Hunter's Lane High was brand new then, and very nice. I understand now, it is not a good place to go. I LOVE Hendersonville, even now, though I have not been up there in a long time. We went up there about a year ago to look at some real estate toward Gallatin. Man, Sumner County is high! :0
La Bastide sounds French, Rima. Ymmm...very rich! Leigh Ann and I were discussing a new restaurant they have here in Smyrna. It is owned by a native Venezuelan chef who studied in Switzerland. I cannot wait to go! We have not been yet. It is white tablecloth, waiters with the little hand towels draped over their arm, etc. Nashville's Restaurant Guide rates it pretty high...
Oh, I forgot to mention pasty carts. If it is traditional French, it will have pastry carts. I love to watch them make those pastries. I think they are too beautiful to eat! ;)

Hey Rima...I went to the resteraunt website :) Mmmm looks really yummy ...especially the seafood...have you ever been to Japan house over there...can't recall now which side of Scripps it's on but my daughter Dana goes there often and she loves the food and prices

Steph...how fun that you all are getting so many new places to try :) Recently I've been trying new things with some folks...Vietnamese food...the spring rolls and pho (soup with rice noodles) are the BEST....I get the chicken pho and it is dreamy!! I was scared because it was so unknown to me...but the flavors of the broth and then you put in your own vegetables..Mmmmmm Look for a vietnamese place in town and try it!!! And it's sooo healthy :D
Leighann...it feels really good to have things getting caught up in the house that I let go :) Even though I'm really tired..LOL I've not been going to bed as early as I normally do...that's why I'm tired...

Stephanie...why did you have to go and mention the pastries, I love French pastries. I can not wait to get to France just for that. Lebanon being closer to Europe we used to be able to find them, they are so good, hard to find really good ones around here. Maybe on the other side of the country its different, it sounds like.

Is that right about the croissant. I really wanted to go this year, but the Euro to the dollar being what it is, would have been terribly expensive, the second that adjusts, I am on that plane to Paris.
I would love to go to Europe one day; especially the countries of my origin (Italy, Poland - that's so odd to write, cuz for years we thought we were German - and Ireland)
Kathi, how did the change in your origin come out?
If you go to Italy, Florence is the city to go and see. I loved the smaller cities rather than larger ones like Rome and Venice.

Three weeks from tomorrow is when I pick up the car for Vegas...OMG, I can't believe it's in a matter of WEEKS now
My ticket is 116 DOLLARS!!! I was doing 39 in a 30...my husband was yelling at me about a turn I made, he didn't like the route I chose to where we were going...he makes me very nervous when I am trying to drive...I told him so, too. From now on, he can ride on the hood! :)
I don't have to pay the fine, but I do have to pay court costs when I go, which will probably be about the same amount. Well, at least my driving record will remain clean...
BTW Leigh Ann, when you check in, I completed 5 circuits this week. They were like this...

Push-ups and sit-ups
Next week, I am going to go down to 3 miles, and lift a bit heavier to keep those muscles fatigued. I want to work harder, in less time. Who has time for an hour workout every day?

Kathi, I am not sure how the points work here, but yeah, I don't think there is much wiggle room to screw around too much...and I am normally very careful.
Oh, and this is John's home town...he is the king of short cuts, and determined that everyone should take the shortest way EVERY TIME, or you are just a total dummy. (I will use the word "DUMMY" to be polite....totally not what he said.
Oh, Ok; I'm all for taking the shortest route too, but sometimes it's nice to take the long way; I'm sure you've heard this saying (don't know exactly how it goes)..it's not the destination that's important, it's the journey getting there... I think it's nice to slow down every once in a while

I'm good for the dump early Tuesday if you can...because I'm to finish last minute details before the company arrivess ..they fly in that evening...right now I'm preparing for a lecture at the fair tomorrow...and then do meet/greets ...Monday I work then go to the fair to shadow judging...then bible study Monday night...Sooooo busy busy...the Barton's will be in town til the 9th..
