Evening Ladies, I'm in the middle of downloading all my game shots. Only took a couple hundred - low for me. Too much watching and cheering and not enough shooting. For better or worse, I plan on giving the scale a stare down tomorrow morning and reporting in. I do know going into the trip I was down a pound, so let see what kind of trouble I got myself into. I think most of the damage will be from not getting the water in. That's just a short term thing.
Well, I got on the scale. I did major damage. I left Thursday down a pound and looked this morning and I am up 4. :( Basically I did 5 pounds of damage. Plus I'm at a point higher than I started after the holidays. I really hope this is an aberation mostly due to not drinking any water. Whatever it is, it will stop today and not ruin my week! I've moved from being sad to being PO'd.
Yes, don't let it ruin your week, this past weekend was so much fun and also imopssible to maintain the heathly lifestyle we had created here at home. So far for check ins: Brenda +1 Angela +4 Me +1.2 Hope everyone else finds some "negativity" when they hit the scales. Oh yea, Brenda, I don't know if I mentioned it but WAY TO GO with your BP - that is a very positive accomplishment.

Well, anyway you look at it I had a great time this weekend. Soccer, and enjoying you and Paul's company. Angela - you and Byron truly missed out as we had a GREAT time! So... if it cost 4 pounds... so be it! :o) I am especially glad our boys had fun. They deserved it. Have a great night everyone! Geez Tina! I already admitted to the world that I'm a total loser for missing you guys and being the wild partier that sleeps for fun! :o) I even paid the 4lb price too!
Too bad about Jenna's ankle, but since she's putting some weight on it, that's good. But muscular things can sometimes be more painful than a break. Maegan's chest is still sore from diving into the goal post but she says she's not bruised. I have to take her word for it.
Did a 5mi jog/walk today. Didn't have the energy but still did it. I'm glad, but I'm tired. I'm too tired to peddle on the bike so I'm going to try to catch up on game photos. I still have Tru's team from the weekend before to go through also!
Maegan was on fire this weekend... I hope they are both ok! Great Job on the 5 miles...I enjoyed my workout today - it felt good. Have a great day, tomorrow.

This week I cheated with a brownie because my amy made her first ever in the easy bake oven she got for christmas (pleae I could have cheated with a hershey bar) but nothing like eating your daughters first brownie which she is so very proud of!!

Nope. I completely lost count. I stopped logging after my 10-mile jog. I think it was 34 miles, give or take.
Oh and Tina, I dont go NEAR the scales the week before my period. Too depressing. I vote that we don't have to weigh in when it's our week, because the numbers arent really accurate, and are pretty distressing and discouraging.
Tina - Stephanie is right. I'm sure it's not all real. I got on again this morning after posting the +4 yesterday saw only +0.2 from the previous week. Nice bounce - I'm glad it just PO'd me. Makes sense since I didn't eat too bad. I ate what I wanted (which was mostly veggies anyway) and had my chocolate (wrapped around strawberries and other fruit) and was forced to share my bev - By would take my drink over and swap with his empty!
My problem is I didn't get the exercise in last week. I can eat right and stay about the same if I don't exercise. Or I can exercise and eat crazy and mostly stay the same. If I want something to move, I've got to do both! I know that - I just have to do it.
I put on a pair of pants this morning that were WAY to big!!! They need to get donated! I'm in a great mood now.

That's funny about the extended warranty. Hell no, I didn't get it. And I think the poor thing is ready to lie down on me already. It's only 9 months old, and already overheating and shutting down. That's what I get for buying the more expensive one. I had one before that cost about 500 bucks less, and we had that thing forever, with both me and John running on it. Ah well. Consumer report said NordicTrak was a good one, but I think not. Just 1 woman's opinion...
Ok... I feel better tonight. I ate smart today, did 230 calories on the eliptical... did 2 days worth of core (ouch!!) and worked on arms. Drank a river of water (if one comes up missing... dont tell on me! ha) and now... im gonna go lay in bed and watch some tv. Just finished cleaning up after dinner. LONNNNG day.

I did an hour of cardio today...burned a whooping 580 calories :D it was split between 3 20 min sessions with a potty break between each...WOW Now sure how the scale is going to react this week...I'm not cutting back very well caloric wise :( I traded the nicotene gum in and got screwed in return...cravings

I'm consuming way too many hidden carbos ...and obvious carbos :) I'm confused...one of my co workers told my I need the carbos to work out...Haven't had a chance to research on it..anyone know this stuff off the top of their head???

I don't know...carbs are where you get your energy from, maybe thats why they are telling you that. I think it depends on the type of carbs, also. Right now, I am making sure I get plenty or protein after working out, because Paul says my muscles need it to rebuild. I haven't focused on what I eat prior to working out...I will ask Paul. Any advice, anyone? BTY, the reset thing for a week would only be about a $100 without the vitamins - which you already take...I am thinking of ordering me some more...I just had my last shake and it's nice to substitute those for meals sometimes.
Paul says eat carbs at lunch or grab a carb bar...workout after work...and then no more carbs for the day...plenty of protein, within an hour to feed your muscles. Hopt that helps.
YES...that helps and I will write that down to help create meals...gosh this makes me want to go back to chewing the nicoteine gum....I didn't have these food cravings before...eating bad yes...cravings no...but I won't go back to the gum because I haven't forgotten how hard I worked to get through that...I never want to experience that ever again!!!!!! I was going to say that, too Brenda. Make sure you are getting adequate protein for your weight (I think the ratio is 1/2 a gram per pound of body weight). No concentrated sweeties, have your good carbs at breakfast, lunch and then mostly protein and veggies at dinner, and my rule is nothing to eat after 6p. I know that is really early to stop eating for some people, but you can adjust it a bit, but I wouldn't eat much after 8 p. Probably nothing about 2 hours before you turn in. Your body needs the fast to repair the muscles you whaled on that day :), and not worrying about digestion. Push the water to flush the urea in your body from the extra protein (high protein equals hard on kidneys!!). But keeping up your protein intake should help with the cravings. I would check with my doctor to make sure that protein/body weight ratio is okay. I am not sure if you have other things going on besides the BP...:) But that is how I do it, and it helps me get through all of that running!
I was just looking online when I saw the they had a pretty good earthquake yesterday about 120 miles from London. I thought it was funny to hear other people describe natural disasters. They said, "my radio jumped up and down on the shelf and I was frightened", and "I was awoken...it was hell". The British are so proper, aren't they? I swear, every time we get a tornado, we get someone from Soddy Daisy, TN, standing on the step of their mobile home, barefoot in a wife-beater, talking about how it sounded like a train.
By the way, Soddy Daisy is an actual town in TN. Of course, not a direct reference to the good people of Soddy Daisy; just an example!!! :)

Hello Ladies, Checking in since it's been a couple of days. Been busy at work and just haven't recovered the energy drain of the last couple of weeks. Yesterday had to chaperone a field trip - went pretty good. Tomorrow's schedule is just crazy and if I didn't check in today I probably wouldn't get to until maybe Sunday.
I'm just kind of out of it. I forgot my lunch AND my iPod & heart rate monitor. There goes running during lunch. I really need the tunes with this energy level and now I have to get lunch somewhere.

Had a freaky week.....had bunches happen that weighed very heavy on me...and I caved and bought nicoteine gum :( yep...I had a piece one evening (thursday)and then Friday afternoon...SO yes, I have had 2 pieces of nicotene gum that had the effects of xanex...LOL...very odd...and even more odder...I haven't craved the nicotene ...that terrible stuff for my health actually helped me those 2 times...and yes, it did raise my blood pressure and no it's not going to re enter my life and take over like it did before :D LIFE IS GRAND AND GOOD!!!

Geez Tina! I already admitted to the world that I'm a total loser for missing you guys and being the wild partier that sleeps for fun! :o) I even paid the 4lb price too!
Too bad about Jenna's ankle, but since she's putting some weight on it, that's good. But muscular things can sometimes be more painful than a break. Maegan's chest is still sore from diving into the goal post but she says she's not bruised. I have to take her word for it.
Did a 5mi jog/walk today. Didn't have the energy but still did it. I'm glad, but I'm tired. I'm too tired to peddle on the bike so I'm going to try to catch up on game photos. I still have Tru's team from the weekend before to go through also!

Tina, are you sure it's not partially fluid retention? It's hard to believe you could have gained that much in just 2 days. That's "going to Grandma's for Thanksgiving and eating a whole pie" weight gain! :)

Oh yes, Brenda. I see tons of stuff that of course, could not and would not mention, as it is protected health information. We are in the same boat, there! BUt I know what you mean; the names are funny sometimes, particularly the older ones.
Well Steph - I did fall off the roof. But I also ate WHAT i wanted and drank MUCH more than normal. I also didnt get the water i needed so yes, there is probably some fluid retention... but - gotta call it like the scale says. haha. :o)
I have my fingers crossed that i will lose AT LEAST 2 of it just simply getting back into my routine.

Nope. I completely lost count. I stopped logging after my 10-mile jog. I think it was 34 miles, give or take.
Oh and Tina, I dont go NEAR the scales the week before my period. Too depressing. I vote that we don't have to weigh in when it's our week, because the numbers arent really accurate, and are pretty distressing and discouraging.

Tina - Stephanie is right. I'm sure it's not all real. I got on again this morning after posting the +4 yesterday saw only +0.2 from the previous week. Nice bounce - I'm glad it just PO'd me. Makes sense since I didn't eat too bad. I ate what I wanted (which was mostly veggies anyway) and had my chocolate (wrapped around strawberries and other fruit) and was forced to share my bev - By would take my drink over and swap with his empty!
My problem is I didn't get the exercise in last week. I can eat right and stay about the same if I don't exercise. Or I can exercise and eat crazy and mostly stay the same. If I want something to move, I've got to do both! I know that - I just have to do it.
I put on a pair of pants this morning that were WAY to big!!! They need to get donated! I'm in a great mood now.

That's funny about the extended warranty. Hell no, I didn't get it. And I think the poor thing is ready to lie down on me already. It's only 9 months old, and already overheating and shutting down. That's what I get for buying the more expensive one. I had one before that cost about 500 bucks less, and we had that thing forever, with both me and John running on it. Ah well. Consumer report said NordicTrak was a good one, but I think not. Just 1 woman's opinion...
My treadmill is not going to have that problem...hehehe!

Ok... I feel better tonight. I ate smart today, did 230 calories on the eliptical... did 2 days worth of core (ouch!!) and worked on arms. Drank a river of water (if one comes up missing... dont tell on me! ha) and now... im gonna go lay in bed and watch some tv. Just finished cleaning up after dinner. LONNNNG day.

I did an hour of cardio today...burned a whooping 580 calories :D it was split between 3 20 min sessions with a potty break between each...WOW Now sure how the scale is going to react this week...I'm not cutting back very well caloric wise :( I traded the nicotene gum in and got screwed in return...cravings

I don't know...carbs are where you get your energy from, maybe thats why they are telling you that. I think it depends on the type of carbs, also. Right now, I am making sure I get plenty or protein after working out, because Paul says my muscles need it to rebuild. I haven't focused on what I eat prior to working out...I will ask Paul. Any advice, anyone?
BTY, the reset thing for a week would only be about a $100 without the vitamins - which you already take...I am thinking of ordering me some more...I just had my last shake and it's nice to substitute those for meals sometimes.
Paul says eat carbs at lunch or grab a carb bar...workout after work...and then no more carbs for the day...plenty of protein, within an hour to feed your muscles. Hopt that helps.
YES...that helps and I will write that down to help create meals...gosh this makes me want to go back to chewing the nicoteine gum....I didn't have these food cravings before...eating bad yes...cravings no...but I won't go back to the gum because I haven't forgotten how hard I worked to get through that...I never want to experience that ever again!!!!!!

I was going to say that, too Brenda. Make sure you are getting adequate protein for your weight (I think the ratio is 1/2 a gram per pound of body weight). No concentrated sweeties, have your good carbs at breakfast, lunch and then mostly protein and veggies at dinner, and my rule is nothing to eat after 6p. I know that is really early to stop eating for some people, but you can adjust it a bit, but I wouldn't eat much after 8 p. Probably nothing about 2 hours before you turn in. Your body needs the fast to repair the muscles you whaled on that day :), and not worrying about digestion. Push the water to flush the urea in your body from the extra protein (high protein equals hard on kidneys!!). But keeping up your protein intake should help with the cravings. I would check with my doctor to make sure that protein/body weight ratio is okay. I am not sure if you have other things going on besides the BP...:) But that is how I do it, and it helps me get through all of that running!

I was just looking online when I saw the they had a pretty good earthquake yesterday about 120 miles from London. I thought it was funny to hear other people describe natural disasters. They said, "my radio jumped up and down on the shelf and I was frightened", and "I was awoken...it was hell". The British are so proper, aren't they? I swear, every time we get a tornado, we get someone from Soddy Daisy, TN, standing on the step of their mobile home, barefoot in a wife-beater, talking about how it sounded like a train.
By the way, Soddy Daisy is an actual town in TN. Of course, not a direct reference to the good people of Soddy Daisy; just an example!!! :)

Checking in since it's been a couple of days. Been busy at work and just haven't recovered the energy drain of the last couple of weeks. Yesterday had to chaperone a field trip - went pretty good. Tomorrow's schedule is just crazy and if I didn't check in today I probably wouldn't get to until maybe Sunday.
I'm just kind of out of it. I forgot my lunch AND my iPod & heart rate monitor. There goes running during lunch. I really need the tunes with this energy level and now I have to get lunch somewhere.

Had a freaky week.....had bunches happen that weighed very heavy on me...and I caved and bought nicoteine gum :( yep...I had a piece one evening (thursday)and then Friday afternoon...SO yes, I have had 2 pieces of nicotene gum that had the effects of xanex...LOL...very odd...and even more odder...I haven't craved the nicotene ...that terrible stuff for my health actually helped me those 2 times...and yes, it did raise my blood pressure and no it's not going to re enter my life and take over like it did before :D LIFE IS GRAND AND GOOD!!!
