Morning Ladies!!!
Is everyone familiar with the saying "god put me on this earth to complete a few things... and at this rate I will never die."? Well, I decided to change it...
"God put me on this earth to lose 17 pounds... and at THIS rate, I will never die"! hahahaha
There is the silver lining in MY lack of weight loss! Im now immortal! hahaha hoho hehehe
Have a great week everyone!

Leigh Ann said...

ROF...I love it! Immortality is a wonderful thing! BTY...your girls were great...mine fell into the hot tub last night...but all is well:)

Kathi said...

ok, leigh ann; my weigh in today, w/o clothing or eating, said i only gained 1.2; put that on my ticker please..i have another incentive..my sil yesterday said that if i lose another ten pounds by my birthday (april 12), she'll take me shopping for new outfit :D.. in a semi better mood today, although i haven't had a cig in two days - think i might be pms'ing too

Anonymous said...

OUCH! And which of yours fell into the hot tub? Im glad she is alright! And Im glad mine were good... I would hate to hafta beat them... hahaha.
So did Paul find anything exciting about Yoga on base? Im dieing to hear!

Tina

Leigh Ann said...

He didn't have time...I am going to run this afternoon because I have to take something back to the store. It was Rayna:)

Leigh Ann said...

Kathi,
I fixed your ticker and hope you saw my comment below - great job not smoking!

Leigh Ann said...

Yoga won't work on base, it's offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1130 - which is too bad, because it's only $4.00/class.

Tina said...

So i guess we should be looking into a membership at Being Fit? I sure dont wanna pay 12.00 a week for Yoga. :o)

Tina

Leigh Ann said...

Yes, looks that way!

Kathi said...

I think i'll be up for yoga this weekend..but, like tina, not sure about 12.00 A CLASS (a MONTH sounds a lot better to me); no, i didn't see your comment, leigh ann; going to look now...

Kathi said...

commented below, but should've here...i haven't started yet, but i think it's coming..feeling bloated

are we still on for tomorrow, leigh ann?

Kathi said...

can we get a group thing with the yoga, or do we have to pay our own?

Hi Ladies,

Happy Monday. The change in the weather set off my sinuses/barrometer and started a migraine on me this morning. Some pseudafed, caffeine and migrain meds have wiped it out but left me groggy. And I have to go help out with softball practice tonight. Sheezz! I really hope I don't get hit w/a ball. I'll just need to stay away from my daughter - she could easily kill me in this state. Even the guys get concerned when they are on the receiving end of her throws. When she was under 10 she wiped out some little girl's face (blood everywhere).

I'm actually a little sore today from yoga. From the downward dog and upper body weight bearing poses and pushups. I guess I haven't really worked out those muscles in probably years and they are letting me know. But it's a good thing. Too bad about on the base, but Sunday mornings are probably the only time I could swing it and I'd like to continue. After Laughlin.

Stephanie,

Seeing Roger made me laugh. I kill all plants - including catus. But my mom has a green thumb on both hands. We had a cat that used to dig in her houseplants. If I remember correctly, she covered the soil with mesh screen. We could water through it and it still had access to air. Have you given that a try? I might just save Roger. :o)

Angela :o)

Stephanie said...

Thanks, Angela. I will give the mesh a try. Couldn't hurt! He is in the "dog house" with me, and is avoiding me. He is only 4 months old, and he is eating EVERYTHING he can get his paws on. Not to mention, killing ALL of my plants. Also jumps up on the baby and pushes her, then takes food right out of her hand. He has been very hard to house break, too. I am pulling my hair out with him, and am looking into some obedience schools. He's very cute and a sweet little dog, and truly awful...something must be done.

Anonymous said...

I am smothering,... Roger is absolutely precious.. and BAD..
Our little dog is now 2 years old and she has been wonderful the last year or so.... took a long time to get there though... chewed everything, pee'd on everything...
pooped on my brand new couch just to see my facial expression... she knows when she does bad.. bc she runs to her pen...
this is how we broke her...

get a pen (crate for dogs)
put him in it... for a few days... leave him in there, take him out and walk him immediately, then let him stay around you for 10 minutes... but only if you can watch him like a hawk...\
take him out every hour... he will train himself to know if he goes outside and pees and poos he is able to stay out with ya'll.

sounds stupid, but it works...
Cookie, now sleeps with my two little ones at night.... not much chewing anymore.... i just still call her "the bitch".... LOL

Marci

Anonymous said...

don't actually leave him in it for 2 days... I mean, walk him every hour.... I'm not cruel!! !LOL

Marci

Leigh Ann said...

LOL...I knew what you meant! Too funny, Shirley is just getting and she is 18 months. It's a miracle she's alive, let me tell you!

Stephanie said...

Yes, it is a miracle he is still alive too, after yesterday. He has a nice, slender neck; excellent for choking (totally kidding!!! I protect him from death by my husband and daughter...he knows who to run to for safety!!)

I know that ultimately it will be me who house breaks him/saves my furnishings from total destruction, because he is here with me all day. Time to try the lock-down thing til I get control! :)

Kathi said...

steph (or whoever has roger), did you try like a spray bottle filled with water? evertime he goes near the plants, spray him with water..see if that works for ya; that's what my sister does with her dog; it works, too; but put the spray of mist, not the stream (don't want to hurt him, obviously)

The Johnson Family said...

I love the yoga pictures! I like it to and I have done a yogalates class which mixes yoga and pilates! I want to try spinning bu tit scares me a little :)

Leigh Ann said...

HAPPY TUESDAY ALL!

Tina said...

Whooo Hooo!!! Short week! I only have to work for 3 and then off to Laughlin to sit on the side of dirt fields and watch my girls play soccer. WHEEEEEEE LeighAnn - tell Paul we should plan to leave by 10. Check in sucks if we wait till all the teams arrive. Last time we went we stood in line for 2 hours! ICK!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Anonymous said...

Good Morning to all of you :D All of the dog stories are very funny..I'm sure not while you are living it LOL..

I thought for sure there were Yoga on weekends or at night on Miramar...that's too bad they are during the day...I'm with you all 12.00 is a bit much for one class....Hmmmm unless you get someone who teaches classes on the side!!!! My bosss does the one where it's 115 degrees in the room ..Its the yoga that starts with a "B" can't recall now

Have a wonderful day everyone :D

Stephanie said...

Crystal, no need to fear the spinning...it's fun! But I would rather bike outside like Brenda. BTW, where the heck are ya, Brenda? I don't think I have seen you on for a while...

Kathi, I like the water bottle idea. And I cannot wait to see if it works.

Stephanie said...

There you are, Brenda. We crossed in mid-air, I think!

I have never heard of yoga in an oven (!!!) You would have to scrape me up after that!

Anonymous said...

Oh my Steph...my boss said the first instructor she had...had her and a few others laid flat out on their mats during class (and my boss is very fit) they didn't allow you to leave the room if you felt sick/dizzy...you had to lay on your mat !!!!!!!!!! (#&%^^)@&$ LOL but....she went back and had another instructor and it wasn't as bad :)

Anonymous said...

I have a grand idea for a San Diego based Yoga clas...Paul can be the instructor...and then when the Wrather's move back east the Tenn group will have him LOL

Anonymous said...

I was out of town for 3 days Steph...then yesterday was a heavy day back....

well I hope to log on tonight :D I must...I must!!

Have a great day all!!

Anonymous said...

Wow... we are a quiet group today! Must be the work crunch after a 3 day weekend! LOL!
Hope all is well for you wonderful women!! :o)

Tina

Leigh Ann said...

Yes, and then will us leaving Friday am...I am swamped with errands, homework, etc. - much like you guys:)

I am trying to talk myself into going to the gym, but I am so tired today, I just want to crawl up in bed and go nite nite!

Anonymous said...

I am swamped myself Leigh Ann.
Too much going on at one time..

I came home early, got overwhelmed at work and yes, started crying... a hopeless basket case... so picked up my work and came home...
too much drama, had to remove myself...

I think I need to face it, and everthing in my life is out of my control, I need to lift it up to the good Lord, and breath... it's just hard to do... I think I can handle everything, and I can't.
I think back to the single woman with a 2 year old and a 6 month old and divorce and school... and I did it... and why can't I continue to face obstacles.. not that they are bad, I just don't have the patience and guidance that I used to and it's frustrating....

Marci

Leigh Ann said...

Hey girl,
Were you at my therapy session earlier today? I posed the same question - why could I do so much when I was younger and now I feel like I couldn't fight myself out of a wet paper bag? No answers really for that, except that the same drive/force/survival mode, what ever you want to call it, that got us thru back then, is now our worst enemy. We can no longer live up to our own high standards and expectations because we are older, physically and emotionally...yep, thats what I was told...We have to learn, like you said, to let go and learn to be kind to ourselves. HUGS to you!

Anonymous said...

hi there ...I'd like to join in on the support group too :) Oh Marci, as you were probably typing your sad story...Leighann was getting an earful from me on my sad story....but then it didn't stop with her...it continued to my sister and then to my husband LOL...you ar so not alone..as Leighann told you :) even though we maybe in swampy tides...I still believe it's for the grander we have yet to live :D I maybe saying all of the sappy (^%*#$^% but I'm here to tell you Marci....I feel your pain :) My sister suggested to me that I quick focusing on the weightloss and focus on the exercise...because my nicotene withdrawls have turned me into an eating machine....and no REAL weigh loss to call my own...too much stress...Love and hugs to all of us women folk :D Leighann and Tina...hope the week leaves you time to get your stuff done for your trip!!

Anonymous said...

no exercise for me today :( I had to use the time for lots of piddely things I had to do..tomorrow..for sure!!!

Leigh Ann said...

Brenda,
No exercise for me either, my bed won out...I am trying to catch up with my family blog and wait a few more minutes until I can just crash! I love the sappy @$## about the grand things we still have left to do in our lives - what a wonderful thought! HUGS to you, too. I want a group hug, damn it!

Anonymous said...

lol me too (group hug) I'll just have to settle for a cup of ginger tea...sigh..it's wicked strong...if you let it seep for a few minutes...the wicked part, you want that because this is the tea to fix what ails you...I have alot of ails LOL to fix right now so brew on you wicked tea!!!!!!!!!!!

Leigh Ann said...

To heck with tea, I am having a glass of red wine and going to bed!

Anonymous said...

LOL...well I'm post happy hour time...did that....hot tea..needed for my mantra :) now the family comes home one by one and I'm visiting...

Stephanie said...

It was busy here today too. Had installation issues with my new employee, and she is frustrated and needs to start work NOW. She is having issues with her teenage daughter, who apparently assaulted her last week and she had to have her removed from their home by the police. I am so sad and worried for her, and busted my butt all day on the phone with tech support, trying to get her loaded so we can get her some cash rolling. Plus trying to maintain the backlog without her...Ahhhhh!!! Department head wants to know when she will be up and running. Also, no running for me, but I steam cleaned my carpets with a cleaner I rented from Home Depot, (dang you, Roger!!!) and my shoulders and back are screaming bloody murder right now! Well, I am thinking about you all, and Marci, hang in there it will even out. Focus on what really matters and in getting what gives you peace of mind. Love you, Brenda and Leigh Ann.

BTW, I love the ginger tea...

Stephanie said...

Oh yes, I meant to share my favorite mispronunciation from work today.

Everyone knows what "malaise" is, right? Just fancy for fatigue...I had a nurse say a patient had "fever and Malaysia". I love it! :)

Kathi said...

lol...steph, did the water bottle work? sorry i didn't report in earlier, leigh ann; but i got home a little after 1:30 (and that's on three buses); may not do karate tomorrow due to it supposed to rain :(

Anonymous said...

What a load you have Steph at work..and your emp. having those family things going on ....gosh, it's so hard being a parent!!!!!

I love the mispronounced quote LOL...you must keep those coming!!!'

Kathi!! I'm sure you are buring calories on those buses!!!! you must be LOL

Tina

Leigh Ann said...

Nice, so your not off somewhere standed, your still visible - I like that. Are you bringing work out stuff and B-suits for this weekend? What about you, Angela?

Tina said...

Bringing Tenny shoes and sweats so if i wanna walk. Their Fitness room isnt much if i recall. But a power walk might fit the bill. As for Bathing suit... HELL NO. LOL. Pool aint heated... I aint freezing. LOL. Kids will probably bring theirs. But not this chaquita.

Leigh Ann said...

No Hot Tub?

Tina said...

I dont think the Aquarius has a hot tub... it didnt when it was the Flamingo ... :o) Website says pool...no mention of hot tub.

Anonymous said...

Hello all :) checking in...this weather makes me soooo sleepy :) Looks like you're all planning your trip :D very cool that you're bringing your gear to work out!!!!

Thanks Tina ...I may not have had a cig in almost a year BUT I just gave up nicoteine and caffeine shortly after we started this blog ....so I need to give myself time :)

Off I go back to work...have fun packing for you trip girls :D you all should go in the hot tub and then post a picture here on the blog...That would be really cute :)

WTG Tina on the new machine!!

Anonymous said...

Hello Ladies,
Lots of stuff going on including bunch of car issues. Of course all at the same time and big $$$.

LA - only a pool and it is outdoor. With high's in the low 60's no way I'm letting my kids in it. Tina-I don't remember a fitness room but looking on the site saw no mention of the arcade. Do you think they made it into the fitness room? Looks like we've got Chae's lil bro for a while, so we might be heading for some kid entertainment. I will be bringing stuff since I was also told I may need to help ref.

Angela :o)

Anonymous said...

Aren't you all going to Laughlin?? You all can put your gear on and walk the hotels together :) Or the fire escape steps LOL Whatever it is...there must be pictures about it :) Hope all of your kids do well in the tournament...half of the bloggers will be out of town together!!! What kind of mischief will the other half get into :)

Anonymous said...

Angela...sorry to hear about the car and monies at the same time :(
What a big pain that is!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Thank you Brenda. With 3 cars & two drivers, what are the odds that I would be walking in the rain today. I should go buy a lottery ticket.

Just called the hotel. They still have the arcade. Thank heavens. FYI- it's downstairs by pkg lot entrance next to Subway, BK & Panda Exp.

Kathi said...

YOu're staying at a place called the aquarius??? hmmm....a particular song comes to mind from the 70's....too funny. you guys can also walk the banks of the river, since you're right there. i'll totally be thinking of you guys this weekend; and totally wishing i was with you (i know it's not an adult trip)..but i must save for vegas this summer..i walked in the freezing cold today and went to karate (got soaked, some also); think i'll go and take a hot shower..also, went to mcd's for lunch and had a bacon ranch salad, with grilled chicken, and a fruit parfait (sp?)..and power aide to drink

Anonymous said...

darnit...Kathi and Angela....if it's raining again and you need a ride...call me 858-722-4970 :D hey...what goes around, ya know...I may need a ride out of the rain one day :)

It's a calm evening in my world tonight :) just cleaning the house a bit...the appraisers come by tomorrow AM..doing the refi thing

My sweet Powder fell down the stairs tonight...she's ok..no harm...poor sweetums...the back muscles are on vacation...these spells come and go in waves...still wagging her tail :D

Anonymous said...

WOW...what a ghost town here...spooky quiet...hoping everyone is doing well :)...just thought I'd check in...still doing housework...my exercise for the night :D

Leigh Ann said...

Hey Brenda,
Just got back from the gym...had to go or it would have been my second day in a row without working out.
Angela,
That just stinks about the car situation! Thanks for the info about the hotel.
Tina,
I will be bringing stuff to workout in also...if it's nothing more than walking and core.
Kathi,
Good job on the Karate...I know it's a pain to get there and back.

Kathi said...

it's only a pain when it's weather like this...brenda, unless you want to ride on my back (sorry, but NO), i can't return the favor as i don't have a car - AND IT SUCKS S***!!!!!!! i will put your number in my cell just in case though..thank you.

Anonymous said...

LOL..Kathi anytime...return favors come in all packages :) but really...if the need is there...I can be there :D

ok now...it's off to bathe and bed

great job Leighann for the late night workout :)

Kathi said...

have a luxurious bath; and yes, i forgot, they do; thank you for reminding me....but you're at work when i would normally need a ride; and NO i'm not gonna have you take off work just to get me to or from some place :P

Stephanie said...

Brenda, oh no about Powder! I am glad she is okay. How old is she? She sounds so sweet!

I hope the weekend blogger trip is a lot of fun, and everybody does great on the field!

Anonymous said...

Oh no Leighann..good luck with your Thursday push!!!!!

What kind of troule can we get in Steph with half the blog gone this weekend?? BTW is your new emp up and running?? Thanks for Powder's well wishes....she's about 11, I think...this wave of muscle weakness looks like the worst yet..poor thing, she's overweight and she just falls over...but when I come to the rescue to give hugs and kisses her tail just wags and wags LOL

Anonymous said...

Kathi...I get off work ususally at 2:30 and everything I do after that can be juggled if I don't have a standing appt/meeting somewhere :) you let me know if I can help ...I know Leighann does what she can...and I'd like to also :D (PS...you live down the road from me)

Anonymous said...

Tina ...Hi! I say what you did last night was exercise LOL...anything dealing with kids is exercise...burn calories LOL

Anonymous said...

No worries LA! I have done NOTHING yet either. Fortuantely I dont have school till 10 but I am working till 4. hehehe. Zach says he is walking your dogs for you? Hes a good boy... lol
Tina

Leigh Ann said...

So, you guys are planning some on getting into some trouble, uh? LOL...too funny. I am hoping I haven't gained - I wish I would just stat already so, I can get it over with. It's like I have been climbing up to the roof all week...I have to head out to SDSU...more Admin stuff and then do my homework, which is theory and oh, so painful!

Stephanie said...

Brenda, I would love if I could fly out and meet you for some drinks and fun in Sandy-ago, while our blog friends leave us this weekend. :)

Maybe we could meet half way, say, in Dallas, and we could find some cowboys to show us around :)

Emp is not "live" yet. She had a virus "Seed" on her computer and the hospital software would not load because of security risk. She is getting an entire new system, and so we are waiting on that and will try to load her again. Meantime, we are on a steadily sinking ship with this backlog. Slowly creeping the wrong way...up, up, up! I guess it's better than having no work! Sounds kinda morbid, because I hate that people are sick, but that's more work for me! :)

Give me a shout any time this weekend, Brenda...I will be here, typing my little fingers off!

Leigh Ann, theory homework sounds bad! I don't know how you do that.

Love y'all!!!

Peace out...

Anonymous said...

darn it...didn't copy my response before I lost it...

ok...I have a theory and it's that those girls aren't going to a soccor tournament (Laughlin is the mini Vegas on the Colorado River)

ok...back to work for me

Anonymous said...

ohhh one more thing...Leighann are you putting the housekeys to this blog under the mat before you leave town??

Tina said...

Stephanie said...

Wow, look what happened while I was sleeping...WTG LA and Tina! I am working and running this weekend. I got a training newsletter from the marathon folks, reminding me to stay strong in my training and I CAN DO THIS. I need to run 10, ten-minute miles today, which is not a great pace, but realistic and do-able for me at this time. I hope I can shave some off of that pace eventually, but right now I am focusing on "doing the time". And that will put me only 3 miles shy of what I will need to run for the race. My goal is 13 miles BEFORE the race. I have 2 months left to train...

Brenda, the English garden sounds lovely. I would love to see pictures of your work! At one time, I had a small rose garden at my home, and had only the older English roses, my favorite was Abraham Darby. They were a lot of work, but I miss them! :)

Kathi said...

brenda, if you're not working to late this weekend at the show, do you want to meet for a drink (coffee or something else..lol) sometime this weekend? i'm up watching the goonies on tbs right now; am having a bit of trouble breathing, so doing my nebulizer

I ran 10 miles in 94 minutes, and the only reason I stopped is because the treadmill overheated and cut off when I was just kicking up my pace, and I nearly broke my neck. Who ever heard of such a thing? It's brand new! I felt pretty good at that point, and I think I could have done 3 more miles, no problem. But I will save the full 13 miles for a few weeks from now. I still have 2 months and dont want to burn out. Treadmill says I burned 1530 calories!! I am going to have a cookie, or two...

Love y'all!!

I know, Brenda!!! It's hilarious about the treadmill. When it shut off, I yelled for my husband to come out and help me with it, and he stepped up on it to see what the problem was, and he said the belt was hot on his bare feet! :) I was relieved when it came back on after a few minutes, though. Certainly cannot buy a new one, right now...

Brenda
the cabin is in Crosby which is about 15 miles east of Gatlinburg... it is at the TOP of the smokey mountains.. gorgeous... a little scary getting to the cabin, but really worth it.... once we traveled back up, we stayed.. I was scared to go up and down after dark, so we made sure to do that before dark.. and then bbqed and drank on the porch!!! A gorgeous wrap around country porch...
it also had a huge living room with a fold out bed.....
Brenda, make a road trip with us... LOL

Marci, you said, on top of the Smokey Mountains. It reminded me of that song, "On top of Ol' Smokey, all covered with snow...I lost my true lov-errrr....for courtin' too slow..." :)

I love Gatlinburg too!! We go there a lot, living here in Tennessee! I have gone to ski on Ober, although it is a very short slope!! You spend a lot of time on the lift, but it is very pretty at night!!

We have not been to Dollywood, but hope to see that soon. I hear it is also lots of fun.

Leigh Ann and her family, my family and Jim George and his family (I don't know if you all know him...) rented a cabin up there a few years ago, and it was beautiful and very fun. Those cabins/chalets are very nice.
