Brenda, I forgot to say that I do not run in the cold. I also admire people who brave the elements to run outside. I don't do so well with cold air in my lungs (a little asthmatic). I run in my garage on the treadmill (with a space heater!!) until it warms up outside. Gets pretty boring, and I cannot wait for spring. At least I have my HGTV to watch while I run and IPOD, of course.
Hello Ladies, Finally checking in. I am so tired. My husband took me to Big 5 last night and got me a long sleeve Adidias performance top and a jacket. I was shocked that I wasn't cold this morning. I only had cold hands. Those things work great.
I went right from the run to switch cars at soccer and took Maegan to softball practice where I was 3rd coach for two hours. Then had to get her to volleball training/practice - another 2 1/2 hours. I just put my iPod on and watched. If I went home, I knew I wasn't going back out.
Thanks for all the best wishes! I really enjoyed seeing the big post and the rah-rahs! Stephanie, I'm sure you would have left me in the dust - but I appreciate the vibes!
My pace this year was almost a minute faster. And it was a comfortable one - no pain or anything. In the beginning my left calf started to cramp I think because it was cold out. I spent a good deal of time stretching out after my brisk walk from the car (twice to put my goodie bag away) so I was stretching warm muscles. I think it helped. Last year my knees hurt and muscles cramped up a storm. (I definitely wasn't in shape to do this last year.)
When I did walk, I did it like the training program - couple minutes running, minute & half walk.
Leigh Ann - Paul told Byron and I you were going to send him out for pictures! You are too funny. Byron said 'that was wrong'. :o) I guess those beers after late night/crazy time soccer were very useful for him!
There were people there taking pictures, but after searching google, I think it was a digital photography club outing and nothing was posted. Darn it. 'Cause I looked cute in my new warm ups! After the race I even found a special iPod pocket in my jacket so I'll have to use it again!
I want wine! Where's the van - cause I'm not going anywhere! Enjoy your evening out.
